We live on Lake Douglas. My kids and grandkids swim in the lake and we eat the fish from the Lake. I want to make sure that the cleanest water possible feeds the lake, whether it is from the Pigeon, French Broad, Nolichucky, or rainwater runoff. Companies are obligated to abide by the Clean Water Act. Having a permit implies that the EPA says it is OK to dump contaminants into our water. It is up the state to enforce the permits. Ultimately, it is up to the RESIDENTS to insure that the state actually does enforce the permit.
