I hope they know that the King James version, although inspired by God, was written by flawed humans...God didn't email it to them. And what do they think about the content that King James (andd others throughout history) had omitted or removed from that version of the Bible?

These nuts give Christianity a bad name. Unbelievers see something like this and think all Christians are that way. This is crazy!

I have a King James bible and i prefer it, but i don't see how the living bible is satanic in nature. If they are referring to the living bible as having the words changed around, they are referring to where it says in the bible that no words should be changed. However, if i am correct, even the King James version has been changed around over the centuries. I believe it has superiority over the other bibles, but, we something like this takes place, i feel it is legalism. We are under the age of grace not law.

Oh give me a break! Doesn't matter what version someone reads, as long as they read it, right? There are thousands upon thousands who won't read KJV because we just don't speak that way. Even if a couple of words are wrong in new translations, isn't getting 95% of it better than getting 0% of it??? That guy has crossed the line in my opinion!

LOL! Is Amazing Grace feeling a little insecure with their religion?

As an Atheist, I think the burning of ANY books is a way of dumbing down the population so the church can have more control over it's sheep. It is taking us down a road that our ancestors fled from when they left Europe.

I encourage all Christians to READ their Bibles from front to back outside of the guiding talons of the preachermans greedy hand. I also encourage all Christians to educate themselves on the history of their religion.

Doesn't this sound like a story of book burning back in the 1940s by a group of people that believe there way was the only way. Lets not forget the millions of people that died cause of that one man that wanted thousands to follow his lead. This pastor needs to take a history lesson cause this nation was founded on the FREEDOM OF RELIGION. The bible has been translated over and over again. Maybe this pastor should find an original bible created in the year 33AD after the Lord Jesus was executed by the Jews. Some would argue that the King James Version of the bible could be satanic cause it isn't the original text that was written. The Lord God will judge this pastor on judgement day. I only hope that the pastor finds the right way to make a statement.

At our church the KJV is preferred simply because it is the oldest and first ever version translated from the original script. In Revelation ch.22 vs.18-19 Gods word clearly states that a man would suffer grave consequences should the words of the Bible be added unto or taken away. That is where the other Bible translations come in. Simply put, there are many translations out there that contain misleading or inconsistent scripture. One verse well known throughout the Christian community is 1 John ch.5 vs 7. In the KJV it says, For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost and these three are one.
In other translations you can find no mention that these three are one or you may find the whole verse completely omitted. The new century version, the new international version, and the new living translation are just a few to note. This is a perfect example of what Revelation 22 vs 18-19 warns against. This is why the church mentioned considers those translations as satanic.

his is an example of the world we are living in! For a few people to make a decision to burn bibles and books that are written by Christian people, thats what I call satanic! If you don't like any other version of the bible...then leave them alone. If your brother in Christ can understand God's word better by reading the NIV, then leave him alone.

I bet they also believe God will save them if they can dance with snakes after being bitten numerous times. 14 members, isn't that called 2 families? What kind of church is this?

Greetings in the name of the most excellant name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The broadcast about your plans for books on halloween was very disturbing for us as children of God. We agree that the King James Version is the purest word of God, but have you considered that many people are only able to read other "easier to read" versions and that it may be the bridge that allows them the ability to read the KJV. Also, to burn the Word of God in any forum is heresy. How ironic is it that you are making a bomb fire on the devil's night in a protest of diversion of God's Word?I am sure satan and his family appreciate your assistance. You should never try to desroy God's Word. Praise the Lord that even your unskillful handling of God's Word will not destroy the Message. God Bless you.

Seems to me they are going a bit overboard on some of these books. I love the KJV and trust it entirely, but I read other versions (NIV and The Message by Pererson) for study. I believe the Holy Spirit translates to the truly saved person and will teach us something every time we open the Bible, and with careful study we will recognize anything that don't sound right. I read the versions together, with prayer, and I am "fed" every time I go to God's word.

Many of today's authors are good Christian writers and are ministering to the masses through their books. There is no reason not to read and enjoy another person's personal experience in Christ. Burning the book is burning their testimony, and judging that person. Some of these were on the burn list, I believe.

On the other hand, if I pick up a book that is not following the Bible, I will destroy it so it don't fall into someone's hands and led them away from salvation. I'm all for getting rid of the misleading literature out there.

God bless ya'll!

Greek and Hebrew are the original language of the BIBLE. These heretics are too LAZY to learn the original languages so they cling to an interpretation created 1700 years after the time of Christ because they don't want to do the hard work of dealing with the text. They are LAZY heretics that have created an IDOL out of the King James Version of the BIBLE.

I was sad to learn that "A MAN OF GOD" would do such a thing. I believe we as American's do have the right to speech and freedom of press, however; this action is absolutely heart breaking and the City of Canton needs to talk with Rev. and it's church family. I will pray for him and his church members.

Apparently Mr. Grizzard must think that the only believers who will be in Heaven are those who were born in English-speaking countries after 1611 (the year the KJV was published). It's very sad that there are people calling themselves Christians who can be this ignorant and narrow-minded. As a Christian myself, I take great offense at people like this pastor and his congregation because not only is their legalism condemned by the Bible itself (refer to the entire book of Galatians and insert "KJV only" for the then relevant problem of circumcision) but it also perverts the true gospel and alienates believers and unbelievers alike. What a disservice he is doing to our precious Lord!

I'm not sure what you're talking about. In my NIV Bible the verse is: For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water, and the blood;and the three are in agreement. I John 5:7
