I was Really disappointed at the behavior of the children "trick or treating" this year more than in the past. They don't say anything like Thank you, yell out trick or treat when they approach your door. Half of them didn't have on costumes. Three different kids said "is that it?" I was handing out four to five different selections to each child. They would get a tootsie pop and a candy bar and taffy and bubble gum and dots. I thought that was pretty darn good for each child. I was most surprised to have kids said "I want more!" They would reach right in the bowl and grab more. I don't know how some of these kids were raised but they really lack manners. Also I couldn't believe how many people on our block didn't hand out candy. Out of about thirty homes on our block not even half handed out candy. They closed their blinds and shut off the lights. When 8 o"clock came magically all the lights were back on and things went back to normal. I as a child looked forward to Halloween. It was fun and exciting. Getting all the free candy and trying to come up with a better costume than the year before. Getting together with your friends and comparing your treasures. I know things change. I'm not naive, however change isn't always a good thing. I'm sorry that things have gotten this way for a "Childs holiday" that was supposed to be fun.
