It doesn't take a fire too long to burn through plenty of valuable belongings, some that can never be replaced.

First, prevent fires by avoiding open flames,clean dryer vents, no frayed wires, etc.
Second, have a small fire extinguisher available so you can act when a smoke detector goes off.

Make a quick assessment of what you can do. Get people to safety. Call 911 simultaneously.
Find your pants.(Pants are #1)
Find your shoes.
Grab your keys, money and credit cards.
Move your vehicle to safety if needed.
Get out and watch.

PS> I keep a bag ready to grab with enough personal supplies to exist for days.
