Firefighters Say Politics to Blame for Department Cuts
#1 Mar 3, 2012
It's a matter of numbers that make sense, not a vendetta. City of Plymouth pulled out, dollars in drop. City of plymouth pulled out, number of runs drops. Number of runs drops, number of personnel needed drops. It's pretty basic math, actually. Combine that with residents not falling for the SAD which would be an open checkbook for annual tax increases, and layoffs happen. The union is upset because now there's less money lining their pockets, which wasn't what they were created for, but it is, sadly, the way things have become.
