It doesn't appear that anyone commented on the zoning change. I am hoping the zoning board looks carefully at the prospect of reducing the amount of business zoned land in town in favor of "cluster housing". While the project definitely has it's merits, placing it in an area already zoned for residential use instead of taking business zoned land would appear to make sense and have less of a negative impact on potential business tax revenue.

IN theory the bleeding heart liberal proposal makes sense except for the historical and documented fact and evidence that people who are GIVEN housing DESTROY it and it becomes an eyesore since there is no pride of ownership. I am totally against it!!! Fight it Canton Fight it!!! Check out the Middletown Prime Water view housing that went up - it is already defaced and it's going downhill on schedule.
This is VERY TRUE !!!! I AM WITH YOU ON THIS ONE...!!!

This is good news for the Hartford crowd, they can live and mingle with the elite. Starting at $170,000 isn't bad.

They do it the old fashioned way, they earn it, they don't live off the system, they live by the fruits of their own labor, you know, education, decent job, nice close family and ambition.

Honey...sounds like you are bitter and jealous. There truly are people who are disabled and need to be on the system. They are not taking advantage of it. Most have worked and EARNED the social security benefits they have a right to. They are good americans and good people. They are not predators. Not everyone on welfare is a predator either. Many end up on the system by accident. Look at all the families that have recently lost their homes! Listen to the news! Many are going to soup kitchens for the first time in their lives and living on food stamps. Sounds like you are jealous of those who live in Canton. You can too if you look in the right places. No sense in being bitter about the people who live there. Many are just like you. They make the best of it!

<quoted text>sweetie i'm not jelouse, and i didn't mean people who need it, i mean the ones that fake everything even their orgazims, lol you know the kind they keep having kids and can't afford what they have, but they have it for their nails and booze. sounds to me like you may be one of them you defend too much. and oh of course, some are 20 to 25 yrs old and yes they worked a long time, time for disability. please Canton is no better then other towns, you just think you are. take the nose out of your **** and smell the coffee.
No I am not jealous. I have everything I need. And, I don't get my nails done. No need to use profanity "******" online. Only someone who does not have the appropriate language skills would use profanity such as you. Closed minds never create growth. Now back to the issue of affordable housing....Where do you stand on the article that was written? Affordable housing is necessary anywhere. We are losing our middle class and those are the core of people who make up this country. They are losing their homes. Why not give them the opportunity to purchase what is affordable. If Canton is willing to look at the issue, let them do it. Canton is no different than any other american community. It has its wealthy citizens, middle class citizens and its working poor. By the way...many of the working poor are subsidized by the government and they are probably the hardest working of all.

As for the coffee, I happen to make a very good cup. You should come over sometime.

Dearie, where is it going to end. I can accept my tax dollars going to support housing for the needy. I'm sorry but I cannot accept housing in this price category as for the needy. I consider myself middle class and make do with more modest accomodations.

Never said anything about supporting tax dollars for the needy regarding the housing you mention and that is suggested. Just trying to make people aware that affordable housing is necessary and there are all classes of people who should be treated accordingly. We really have to look at everyone and their needs. I'm glad that you are happy in your surroundings.

WOW!!..I can't belive the poor attitudes of some people. If you do your research and inform your self, you would know that these are not ghetto projects that they are buildingl in Canton. These are luxury eco-friendly affordable homes for the middle working class, and not for the needy like some people have mentioned on this topic. I pray that once this beautiful, new community is up that people would change their poor and ignorant views. God bless you all

The New Hampshire state license plate reads "Live and Let Live". Most of you commenting, have no vested interest in the area that these homes are going to be built. Go to a movie, read a book.....get a hobby!
