As a diabetic, I have to call B.S. on this one.

Anyone using an artificial sweetener will recognize sugar immediately if they have any taste buds at all.

Fell ill before she finished the coffee? How long did it take her to drink it? Three freaking hours?

Normal reaction time for a hefty dose of sugar is 2 hours according to my glucose tolerance test.

Wouldn't this be considered a Frivolous Lawsuit, or does it depend on the State?
I agree Bama, you can taste sugar or a substitute in the first taste.

What was she doing in Dunkin Donuts, if she has diabetes??? I am allergic to Shellfish...so I just stay away from Red Lobster...I can't risk cross contamination, of the shellfish...and my food, so I just stay away...it's not worth the risk...

Apples to oranges, Darlin'.

A diabetic can eat sweets but there is a trade off.
I'm not insulin dependent. A slice of fruitcake necessitates a quart of plain water to keep my blood sugar balanced.

If she is insulin dependent & suffered a reaction, she isn't dosing properly & even if she was, to claim a reaction that fast, she has to be lying through her teeth.
I'd almost wager she'll be in it deep if her hospital records are subpoenaed and her blood sugar level is revealed. If it is over 60 her case may well be thrown out.

Until people like these are prosecuted and made to pay for frivilous crap like this they will continue. Bet if she had to pay for Dunkin Donut legal defense she would be fine.

I agree. I am a diabetic also. Also 1 pack of sugar will not drive your sugar that high if you have taken your meds right that day.

She is busted.

Yes, and balls made of steel. I think I heard that the coffee board says that coffee is supposed to be served at 190 degrees. I don't think I'd want to place any body parts in that.

It's all about being responsible for your own personal situation...1. I'm sure Dunkin Donuts, doesn't sell sugar free donuts...2. maybe she should take charge and make sure she puts the sweetner in herself...3. ask again, before she drinks it...

I have a double problem...as I said, I am allergic to shellfish...but I am also allergic to ALL nuts...especially peanuts...I have ask questions and read labels, all of the time...if I suspect their could be a problem, I just stay away...it's just not worth the risk...

Note to self: As part of purposefully misspelling words on the internetz it will be more important than usual to avoid any accidental errors....

Not this time maybe.
I wonder if I can claim against her for the shock of realising how irresponsible she is in her indifference to common sense.
Must be worth a dollar or two. Anyone tried it yet?

I think I have a way to provide plenty of clean water in underdeveloped countries. We just mix the negaturds with positurds and let them cancel each other out.
