[Local Injustice]

my name is Jason Harrison, I went to my local Ingles Supermarket on Oct. 30th, 2007 to pickup some last minute items I needed for Holloween. I was shopping around, when I was aproched by two teenage Ingles employees.
They said to me, "We need you to leave the store and never return, we have you on camra stealing a basket full of food." My first response was that they were joking, and looked around for a canid camra crue. I said yea right, haha.
They in return told me they were not joking. I told them, "I have never stole anything in my life, where is this video of me stealing??? "I then asked to talk to the manager of the store. Where they responded, " She is to scared to talk to you." I proceeded to the front of the store and aproched the customer service counter, where the store manager hid behind the desk, on phone with police. I told the employees that I never stole anything from this store, and they need to check their so called video evidance, because it could not be me stealing. I left the store, and went to my home, across the street. When I got home I called the police myself and asked to talk with Officers. They Police department told me over the phone, that officers were already dispachd to Ingles supermarket, because the Ingles manager said I refused to leave. Which was not true, as I was already home, and as I said before, The manager was already calling police saying I would not leave the store, before even reached the front counter, after being aproched by the two teenaged Ingles employees.
When the police showed up at my house, I had already gotten all my recipets from Ingles, and had them on hand.
I remember thinking that when the police showed up, that they would tell me, Ingles supermarket had made a mistake, and apologize for the misunderstanding. This was not the case. The police told me that I could not return to Ingles property, or would face criminal tresspass charges. I asked the police if they were able to look at this video, Ingles said they had of me stealing. They told me they did not even ask. I told them that was a shame on their part, because I know that would have cleared up Ingles mistake. I also told them that I have never stole anything from Ingles supermarket, and keep my recipts. They warned me again not to return to Ingles. I felt let down by the police department.
I then got online and got the Ingles headquarters phone number. I left a message with their customer service department, after talking to thier operator. I left my name, phone number, and told them my side of the story.
I got a call back from the dictrict manager, on the following day just after 11 a.m. Again, I told him that I never stole anything from their store, and asked them to look over this sucurity tape, that they are mistaken.
He inturn told me reguardless, they have the right to ban anyone from the property, weather they did anything or not.
That he would leave the order to not return to the store intacted, as it was.
So here I am, a guy that has done nothing wrong ban from the food store across the street from me. Besides the embarisment, of being asked to leave in the first place, hurt and not cared about by the by the store so close to me. I have shopped at Ingles scince I moved here a few years back. I also feel angry, that they would label me a thief, when all they have to do is look at their security tapes, and find their mistake. I now have to travel miles down the road to Wal-mart to do any kind of food shopping. I just wanted to share my story of injustice with the rest of the comminity, and God bless you all.

Sorry but Kroger is so much cheaper and better! Publix prices is way to high! Walmart is always to packed, Kroger you can get in and right out! And they are always having great sales!!!!!

My sister was fired 2 days ago because Ingles said that they had her on tape stealing. She is accused of "stealing" the coupons that print with your reciept that had been left behind by customers who did not want them. The said that they had her on tape, but did not show her when they fired her. She will be returning to the store to demand to see the evidence agianst her. She was to shocked, hysterical, and hurt to think to ask to see the alleged tapes at the time of her firing. It seems that Ingles has a history of making FALSE allegations and playing big brother with the "video".

What happened to you is terrible..to add insult to injury is that the district mgr treated you equally as bad by not revoking the ban on you. You should consider seeking an attorney-seems to me like this is considered slander and defamatory to your character. Hopefully there is nothing placed against you such as a criminal offense, especially in the present days where employers ck criminal backgrounds, etc. it would be a shame to find out that way that they did. Sorry for the way you were treated, that should have never happened.

ohkay it sounds like ingles has an issue with the people that shop there! i used to live in woodstock ga and they told the cops to that i was stealing food from them when i have never stole anything from anybody. oh well their store will eventually be shut down at the rate they are going! what ingles was this and what police station
