Bad ebay policies adversely affecting sellers is resulting in a mass departure of everyone from small sellers to Super and Top Rated Sellers who are fed up with fee hikes and corporate indifference at ebay. A look at ebay Discussion Board threads reveals horror stories of 21-day holds slapped by ebay on sellers' Paypal accounts, punitive actions against sellers springing from low DSR ratings, and a number of issues creating a climate of dissatisfaction.

As to ebay's illegal 21-day holds on sellers' PayPal funds, an attorney wrote an article addressing the issue and posted it on a PayPal community Discussion Board. Here's the link: https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/How-to-us...

Corporate ebay isn't trying to fix any of the problems that are adversely impacting ebay sellers. Hence the downward spiral that ebay is in.

The number of disgusted and disillusioned ebay sellers who are abandoning ship is growing exponentially week by week. Ebay is a sinking ship.

International sellers have a hard time(shipping -returns etc.)- but if a American seller just sticks to American buyers -he does not get enough business to pay insertion fees etc. to make it worth the seller's time and energy etc.- The middle ground?? Put a over priced item where a buyer would look where the item he is looking for is not-- for example- if someone is looking for 48tooth 9 speed front derailleur- how many sellers are going to put that exact description down in their title-- not many- I just got burned and bought a 48t 9 speed derailleur for 34$-when its offered under the title 9 speed front derailleur for 9$!!! So if you have the exact title of the search phrase== you got the buy -even if its 3 times as much as the other sellers-- most people don't price check- some do, some don't.

The whole new Global Shipping Program will prove to be one gigantic fiasco for ebay. Of course the sellers will bear the brunt of it, like they always do.

What a lot people don't know are the harassment by sellers posing as buyer to "bump" out the .99 cent bids sellers or the "garage clean out" sellers, who just about give away their items they are selling and " blow the doors" out of the other sellers. Also the junkie gang members who are on a Hiv/aids/hpv medication work program at the post office- I just mailed 4 packages at the post office in santa cruz- took the packages to the front desk and handed them to the counter guy, no receipt, no tracking, I saw him put all four packages in the package bin behind the counter- I only have tracking for one package so far.-- the other 3 have not shown any tracking yet--one was a tissot rock watch-worth 59$-- if those packages come up lost --I don't have a receipt for the mailing situation-- we'll see what comes of it-- the post office counter help should have bar coded my packages and handed me a receipt.

The criminal and gang activity that goes down in our city's postal system is incredible-- I would not hire foreign organized drug crime members to work in the post office or police dept etc.--

Gosh a look at the ebay discussion boards is downright scary these days. I got so frustrated with ebay that I've gone back to consignment shops and yard sales. I put the kiddos outside to help with the yard sales.

I just got involved with a guy from anchorage alaska, and I sold him carbon fiber handlebars for 25$ and posted shipping when I listed the item as parcel post for 8$-- he wanted expedited shipping and I failed to see the shipping change- so I over charged him for the shipping by $5.57 cents, well he wanted the handlebars by friday for a bike race-- and the item after it was shipped stopped in customs in federal way washington for some reason?? I'm not sure- The item was shipped on the 10th and is still there? So he posted a case against me on the 16th- I called him up and explained the shipping mistake and offered the refund for 5.57 - he messaged me back and explained his race dilemma-So by all accounts the package should have arrived by today-by 9 days by parcel post rules, right?? Not with our junkie gang postal office--watch- I'll get burnt with the 3 packages that don't show tracking etc.- I'll let you know-- I refunded the handlebar guys money and told him to keep the handlebars because of the race dilemma and the situation I put him in--not really my fault - but i'm responsible and I did in fact make a shipping mistake.

I gave the seller good feedback- because I was not careful enough - he offered his item at his price and I bought it--who's fault? Mine.

I lost the packaging to return the item also- what should have been a 9$ mistake-turned into a 40$ mistake-the item was miss-described but I lost the packaging to return the item.

Because he over-priced his item-I thought I was getting a good product quality product- no way would I buy a 9$ front derailleur.

I just got back from the post office in down town santa cruz ca. on water st.--- When I was in line the gal behind the counter at post office asked me if I wanted to "drop off" packages to shorten the line etc-- I said I wanted a bar code scan for tracking and a receipt--she said they normally don't do that-my friend who drops off packages always get bar code scan and receipt with out asking-- So i waited in line until i was helped by a counter person and the same man who did not scan my packages last time helped me. I did in fact not want to scan my packages again!! I asked --and he insisted-- the gal next to him behind the counter said --"he asked for a scan and receipt -- do it". I got my scan and receipt for both packages plus a 67 cent shipping increase because one of the packages was under weight. I was more than glad to pay the increase in shipping-this ensures my packages arrive and the cutomer is satisfied-- it is a "pay pal" transaction and I want assurance in shipping etc.-- The package in in route to alaska is still stuck in washington state in federal way-- the 3 packages that don't have tracking-still do not have tracking.

Good luck with all of it and don't hesitate to call the Customer Service numbers at ebay and Paypal both as often as becomes necessary to get anything straightened out.
