I was out in Canon City in late July with my Sons and two of their friends. We had several terrific meals at McClellans Grill & Brewing Pub! The food and service was outstanding! I hear a couple of blogs talking about how loud it is in the place. I live in Southern Cal. and wouldn't even go to a pub that isn't. Great fun, great food, and outstanding micro brew! Keep up the good work!

Do they have live bands? I heard there was a really good band that comes in with young artists. Can you tell me more?

Just returned from a visit to McClellans. Great pub! To me, the owners really went out of their way to create a beautiful interior and enjoyable atmosphere. The beers were well-made and the food I sampled was quite tasty. Keep up the good work. Cheers!

Cead Mile Failte!

I have enjoyed McClellans on a number of occasions.
My band, Whirly Jig, plays there as often as schedules allow.
We love Dana and Joe and all the crew. The food is absolutley amazing and the brews are wonderful and varied!

My bandmates and I live all up and down the Front Range from Colorado Springs to Boulder. We have played all over the country and McClellans is easily on par with any fine Pub we have had the pleasure of playing. We go out of our way to play McClellans becasue it's such a fun and inviting atmosphere.
I also have to say that Dana is one of the best owners/promoters I've ever worked with and we look forward to many happy returns!

So, to the man who tsk-tsk'd Dana for the encouragement of the stick-sphincterectomy, I say bollocks! Your reply, Sir, merely highlighted the urgent need for the procedure.

Come celebrate St. Patricks and the wearin' O' the green with us this upcoming weekend MArch 14th and 15th 2008!

Be a part of a real live Celtic Session Jam on Monday March 17th!

Dana and the McClellans crew is also hosting a $5 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Sunday March 16th 2008 with the proceeds benefitting New Creations Inn, a 12 month transitional housing program through Loaves and Fishes Ministries

reviews are peoples opinion. I value everyones opinion on where there favorite place to go. I like McClellan's and enjoy the company of Joe and Dana. Momo is simply awesome. Both restaurants have set the bar high. I recommend going to both and see for yourself. Didn't you get fired Adam? I thought I seen you there just yesterday? Boy, from the looks of you....I wouldn't want you to work for me. Clean yourself up and your a joke.

I know people get worked up and things just come flying out of mouths, but I think this string of post's from the begining until now tells a lot about Canon City. When you ask a large majority of people about something, in the case a bar, you are going to get hundreds of opinions. Cursing and belittling people for their opinions shows stupidity and childishness. I have never been to Mclellans and will prob never go there based soely on the comments posted here by the owner. If you can't take constructive critacism about your buisness you need to reevaluate your line of work. It is appaling the way you responded to people's opinions. No matter how hard you're working ir how great you think things are going if the customer isn't happy then you are failing.

As much as we try... there is just no way we are going to please everybody. Have you ever worked in food/beverage?

I've eaten at McClellan's twice. the food is pretty good, above average for Canon City. If things are slow, the service is good. It seems to me that they get badly behind if things get busy. I don't mean crowded, I mean just moderately busy. My complaint is mainly with the bar aspect. The bartenders mix pretty good drinks, but they are overpriced. One thing that has really annoyed me is that they stay open a little bit later than the other bars, and there is a surge of patrons at about 1:30. They are more than willing to sell you a drink then, but then 5 minutes later there is someone trying to snatch it out of your hand. I've found the staff to be just as likely to be rude as to be pleasant. It also seems to me that they are capricious about the order in which they wait on people. I know it's hard to know exactly when people approach the bar, but you don't wait on someone who just walked up to the bar when someone else has been waiting for 10 minutes. The choice of bars in Canon is limited, but McClellan's has gone to the bottom of my list.

I've been twice and recommend them to others. The food was killer and the beer is wonderful. Last time we were in on a Sunday the service was a little sketchy but we were a large party. They do try hard and in my mind the quality of the food was worth the wait.

During the Happy Hour, which is from 3-5, Monday-Saturday, and all day Sunday... I can get a pound of wings, a pint, and a basket of chips (criss cuts) for like 6 bucks! And still have some to take home!!!!

Just wondering Adam (or anyone else that knows) is the happy hour still the same days/times? Going to Canon City for my first time soon here and would love to partake in it!

I enjoy the food there. All you can eat fish on Fridays is very good. Only thing is the bank is in the process of foreclosing due to non payment. (This was published in The Florence Citizen so I'm not spreading gossip to be hurtful. Just stating a fact.) It's going to be sad to see this one go. I believe they would have faired better in Colorado Springs where people actually make enough money to go out and spend some.

The reason for the foreclosure isn't because we haven't made our payments. We've made every payment to date. And by the way, It hasn't happened yet, and we're not giving up!

Well hey "Bob D" it would be interesting for us all to learn of your great accomplishments in life. What is your full name, and how would you know anything of the people here? Did you live here once yourself? Have you ever done business here? Our family moved here from California to try and make a better life for our family. We worked very hard for many years to create a business we thought could benefit not just us, but our entire community. We failed! But at least we tried! There are many more projects we are, and will be working on in the future. WE WILL EXPERIENCE SUCCESS because that is our mindset, and that is how we have programmed ourselves. Live and learn through failure, and then move on.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
