Pro anti-stupid law: Letters to the Editor for Wednesday, May 14

Victor Picou's letter proposing legislation to make stupid and inconsiderate behavior illegal is one of the great ideas of our time.

No the lack of density is not the reason for poverty in Southern CA. Illegal immigration is.. The density bonus of 20% is a joke. If you have buildings that are affordable and have 12 affordable units that are old and torn down, building a huge building to get 5 affordable housing units is a joke and a disaster. As for the price of gas, it's due to overbuilding, greed by the oil companies and what's hiking up food prices is growing corn for ethanol. How many more skyscrapers do you want in this city blocking out the sun? Bush refuses to allow us to drill where the oil is on our turf and in Alaksa. You never know what you will find on a bus or on mass transit. No thanks only if an emergency. I'll keep my car. Greed is rampant and the oil companies as directed by the man at tthe top will not process oil or refine what we have. If we keep overbuilding you will be paying a ton of money for water . It's based on regs, transmission, an aging infastructure and overbuilding . Also, what our government deems affordable (someone I know checked.. if rent is 1500/month market..affordable will be 1200/month, hardly affordable) and what the public deems affordable are sometimes two different things. Yes, I am for affordable housing, but it should really be affordable and not have 180 apartments in an area that can't handle it even if 20 are affordable. Low income is $42,450. Greed is destroying America not lack of density housing

How about this? Attention! I drive a 15 year old gas guzzler. I do not have a car payment, and my gas costs $800 a year.

You spent close to $30k to save gas, have a $250 car payment plus interest, pay insurance of $500-$600 a year more than I do, but only save $400 a year on gas.
Now you look like the stupid guy.
