The problem is that the internet and digital cameras at more affordable prices has made everyone who has nothing better to do into a photographic celebrity stalker. Combine this with a society that cares more about Spears, Hilton and their ilk more than Obama and McCain and you can see why this country is in the toilet and the flush lever is about to be tripped.
