Lavergne recants confession, says he never meant to kill Shunick

LAFAYETTE -- Convicted killer Brandon Scott Lavergne maintained throughout his talks with police -- including his taped confession -- that he accidentally struck university coed Mickey Shunick's bicycle and never intended to kill her, according to recordings obtained by Gannett Louisiana.

Maybe he was afraid but once he hit her and picked her up he could have did something besides kill her..He should have to go thru what mickey and lisa had to go thru

According to his new statement he claims that he didn't intend to kill her, rather he shot her because she was stabbing him.

guess the other women was also an accident to and he was defending himself from being attacked by her, the only issue is he just realized what his life is like in prison and it sucks and he wants out but guess what the women he killed never get a chance to come back and live out their life. if you believe him then you must be one gullible person. he told his side before to save his butt from the death penalty and showed where he buried her and now he wants to recant, i say go head and gamble cause the death penalty should be added back if he wants to go to trial.

afried no he did it because he killed lisa and got away with it. its to know if there other he may have killed before or after lisa he had no felin at all they should cut him peice by peice to show him what is like to suffer and put lisa and mickey picture in front of him while the cutting him up

So he claims it was an accident that he hit her? Hard to hit someone by "accident" when video proves he saw her, hit the brakes and changed lanes to go after her. He was just pissed because he had been calling escort services all night and being turned down about 30 times. He thought he would find a woman and make sure she didn't tell him no.

Well he didn't count on meeting a mighty force like Lil Miss Mickey Shunick. She didn't cower and beg like he liked his women to do. She stood up to him, stabbed him, left her mark on him and left him bleeding and gravely wounded. He didn't even get the satisfaction of raping her.

Mickey may have lost her battle but ultimately she won the war because she wounded him so badly he was incapacitated and needed surgery, she stabbed him so that there was so much blood in his truck that he had to burn it. She made sure that he would NEVER be able to harm another woman.

I never knew Mickey but I feel sure from what I know of her that she would have been proud to have given her life to take a dirtbag like this off the streets and ensure that he would NEVER do it to another woman.

Mighty Mickey Shunick is a hero of mine!!

I never said he did it on purpose, if he accidently did it he shoudl have reported it. I guess he accidently shot her, I think he is where he belongs and I hope he NEVER gets out.
