With grateful thanks to the founder of OZFest, Clara Houck, 2007 marks the 29th annual OZ festival, in Chittenango, the birthplace of L. Frank Baum, author of “The Wizard of Oz.” This year marks the 100th Anniversary of L. Frank Baum's third book called "Ozma of Oz" published in 1907, as well as the 50th Anniversary of the International Wizard of Oz Club.

Director: Robert Freunscht, Co-Director & Event Coordinator: General Info, Sponsorship and Publicity: Kathleen Sorbello Di Scenna, Parade Organizer and Entertainment: Barbara Evans and Colleen Zimmer, Graphic Design / Merchandise: Topper, Volunteer Relations: George Rao and Karen Johnson, Munchkin Fun Run: Tammy Westlake, Vendor Relations and Historical Reenactors: Jan and Harold Reichard, Village Historian: Richard Sullivan, OZ-STARAVAGANZA Volunteers : Mark Sample, Tony and Diane Maring, Michaela St. Marie, Dolores Terranova, and Judith Harris.
The event was called OZFEST. The reason for the name change is that OZFEST, which means OZ Festival, has become very commonplace. It was agreed that OZ-STRAVAGANZA! was a much more distinctive and outstanding a name for L. Frank Baum's (author of "The Wizard of Oz") birthplace-Chittenango, New York.
OZ-STRAVAGANZA! will be held in a theme park-like atmosphere. Events will take place at the Chittenango High School, Stickles Park, Dr. West Park, and Community Recognition Park. Special venues will be held at the American Legion, First Presbyterian Church, the Fire Station, Erie Canal Museum and more. Parking will be posted. We are working on tram service to make it easier for our visitors to move from place to place and see all the events.
There will be contests, entertainment, children's activities, food, music, rides, a hot air balloon, special venues, vendors, crafters and fireworks. Flowerpot Munchkin-Margaret Pellegrini, Lollipop Munchkin-Jerry Maren, John Fricke and Great Grandson of Baum-Robert Baum and his wife Clare are coming this year. We are still looking for sponsors to help. The OZ-STRAVAGANZA! committee will keep you posted as to our sponsors, guest and schedule of events.
OZ-STRAVAGANZA! PARADE
This year the wonderful OZ-STRAVAGANZA! Parade will be on SUNDAY at 2pm. We are looking for floats with music, marching bands and attractions.

IT WAS A COMPLETE JOKE!!
not worth coming from anyplace more than 10 minutes away...it was built up very nicely with absolutely NO follow through...it was a HUGE disappointment...the vendors, were local and very minimal OZ collectibles...some handmade things ..ok...but for an OZstavanganza...what were you thinking???
