You'd think that the Dispatch could at least hire someone who is able to keep up with stories - his name has been released, his low life friend left him to die, his friend was the driver and knocked on doors in Canal at 4AM but never mentioned the accident, and he's already been picked up by Fairfield County sheriffs! Ok - can I get a part-time job Dispatch - I have a full-time but do have some spare time to lend to you!

The curve that they wrecked on, is really bad. Not to mention the deer that run across the road in that particular stretch. In any event, I am surprised the Lithopolis cop didn't stop them, since they have a reputation for pulling over every one who is out driving past midnight and over stepping their jurisdiction.

Sad story, but drinking and driving irresponsibly is something they should have considered.

Life is so fragile. We have to young men out doing things neither should be doing. The young man did not leave him. Did you see that vehicle. The young man has a brain injury that is bleeding. He did not respond to these people because he did not know what is going on and still doesnt. If only the neighbor that answered the door or the police officer could have put the pieces of the puzzle togther.. Mayby the young man could have been helped. Young men at that age dont relize how life is so fragile. Neither boys were out to harm each other or another that night. One life is lost and another still hanging on for now, Life has changed forever for so many people out of this. The time is not to blame. We all have made mistakes and for most of us, they do not turn out like this, though I am sure with slightly different timimg they could have. My heart goes out to the family of Todd and to the young man still fighting for his life.

the 17 yr old is not a low life...he is one of few ppl that got an unfortunate consquence to pay for drinking and driving!...he is not the only teen or adult that drives while drinking!!...the 17yr old has a brain bleed!...an injury like that impacts a person in seconds!..he was trying to get help but the time neone responded he could not rember from the injury!....n if the cop would of done his job instead of assuming he was just drunk the other boy might have been found! but since he assumed and at 2 n the morning searched the wrong car.... two ppl and alot of family and friends are suffering right now!......the 17 yr old boy doesnt even know his birthday or wats happening from one minute to another!...he did not just leave the other boy to die!........

Are trying to shirk responsibility for underage drinking? I feel empathy towards the families, but they could have easily took out a van full of children coming back from a concert.

I went to school with Todd - and though he bullied me to no end - I hate to see his life come to such a short end. I don't wanna feel for him, but God puts things on our hearts, and not about to tell Him no lol. I'm praying for the families affected and hope this sheds some light on the effects of driving while intoxicated. His Facebook shows posts by him playing beer pong round 6:00 that night, so my guess was they were pretty well drunk. Such a sad sad waste.

Todd was a good friend of mine and he actually lived at my cousins about a month ago. I liked Todd and I wish his family well. I drank a few last night for my good ole buddy from the past. I will never ride with a drunk driver in todds memory. R.I.P todd, this ones for you!

My question is why there wasn't a guard rail on that curve? I live and grew up just down the street from it and have seen many cars that didn't make it through that curve. It is literally a 90 degree curve. Most of the time the cars hit the fence going the other way, but these two were heading the other direction so they went into the ravine. It makes me sad to think that guy was in the car overnight just a few hundred yards from help.
Sure we can disregard their lives because of the choice they made, but if it was your kid, I would imagine that you would take a different perspective. I donít know either of them, but I do know lots of good kids/people who make stupid decisions.
CW needs to put up a guard rail there. I wonder who made the decision to save the money and not put one up.

The 17 year old DID NOT leave Todd to die on PURPOSE! He suffered from SEVERE head trauma and had no idea what was going on! He may have been drinking, but that's just a consequence I guess. But people need to STOP saying he left him to DIE because he didn't! I knew Todd and he was a great guy and anyone would be stupid to leave him! Get your story straight before you go saying stuff!

If you don't no the story keep your thoughts to you self. The kid driving isn't a low life. He shouldnt have been drinking and driving, but he didn't leave his friend to die. He is in the hospital with a bad head injury. If your going to run your mouth know the full story
