It has been my experience, that when a manager calls a meeting, and they have things to say. Oh about who didn't do the job right, who's slacking, gossiping, pointing fingers; the manager generalizes, which prompts the guilty, individual to sit up straight in their chair, eyes wide open, looking around the room....and the guilty party, or parties have that look on their face like "I know he's not talking about me!"
The slackers, especially if they are assistant managers, continue to get away with things, nothing gets accomplished. the slackers and gossipers, continue to do such things, or Not do such things. They get busted at one point, and then the finger pointing starts.
The boss isn't around long enough to see what is really going on, so he/she takes the word of the worst gossipers and slackers. The hard workers always pay in the end.

I really get tired of the boss telling me that I am older and should overlook "The Kids" especially since they don't know any better and then turn around in the same breath and say "We are all adults here and that we should act as a team. Imagine that. I say fire the little rugrats! Then I will be able to do my job much better without all of this petty whining!

To GuyMD on your comment about the younger people doing their jobs; In a perfect world. Be honest about it Guy. You must be approx. somewhere in the age range of, oh let me guess, 18-23. A young adult or should I say an ACTUAL adult since you expect all of the privileges of an adult and you expect to get treated like an adult but you also want someone else to pick up your slack when things start to get a little rough, We are not talking about kids now are we? And if you were honest about it you would be able to discuss this topic realistically. Fact of life since time began-these so-called wanna-be adults are the first to point the finger and go lying to the boss just to cover their own butts. In my experience (and by the way I am only 26 years old, not quite crypt material yet- maybe by the time I am 30) the guilty are always the ones who cry the loudest and lie the most and they are most always female( they are not mature enough to be classified as a woman and I am sure they are physically mature enough to perform in other ways, and this seems to be where all their thoughts are centered around while they are supposed to be focusing on the job. They are also threatened by someone who does actually do the job and thus this is why they tell all the lies to the boss, a greying Middle-aged old fart who likes attention from young girls......

Dear Guy person, If you knew anything about this subject at all, you would also know that these precious little "Kids" get the same pay as everyone else. Proves that you don't know your ___ from a hole in the ground and have no business commenting on this matter and also shows me that you are one of these wannbe adults who would be the first to cry and whine and lie, you are not being honest now about the pay scale so how could I even hope for one minute that anything else that you might post would have any truth to it, GET LOST if you cannot contribute anything of substance to this POLL, you are a time waster.

Hey GuyMD, the younger kids are the ones who spit in your food and flick buggers in your salad, so be careful not to piss them off. Happy dining! PS Maybe the "CRYPT KEEPER" is looking better all the time!

When an employer does not want to deal with any problems and stick his head in the sand, this is when he punishes all. It is simple, he does not care and does not want to be bothered with it. And, of course, he will not repremand one of his "little darlings" without punishing the innocent, too. It makes him fell like "KING KONG". Big Fish in a little pond. KING SH-- on Turd Island. No one respects him at all. He likes to stir it up. He feeds on the drama. He is definitely not a "MAN'S MAN. Everytime he struts into work it reminds me of that story "The Emporer's New Clothes".

people who are jealous have to make up lies,
in hopes of getting the good workers in trouble, when all they are doing is their jobs, as they should be done.

maybe you should concentrate more, on doing your job, instead worrying about how fast you can get to your car, to sneak a smoke!

I guess all you girls are trying to figure out who you can blame for this one. Look in the mirror and watch it crack. Oh yea, you are also the ones that sneak to smoke when you know it is against company policy, guess you think you are better than everyone else and you don't have to follow the rules. I see that your game is to cause trouble and lie about the ones who are doing their jobs so that no one will notice that you are sneaking to your car to have a smoke. You are the classic case of the "GUILTY PARTY" who does the most fingerpointing, lying, whining and shit-stirring. You make me sick! YOU ARE THE LIAR AND YOU ARE DISGUSTING

Employers are always in fear of a lawsuit of some sort or another, so therefore they have gotten very good at generalizing instead of taking care of the real problem. It is the easy way out. Boils down to: Have an employee meeting, ream everyone, make threats, emphasize teamwork (while in the same breath instilling animosity-now the good workers are well aware that they are being punished because the slackers have lied about things) and at the same time, in his final insulting breath of the meeting, he adds that we are all adults here and that if we have a problem with our co-workers (key word being "co-"-meaning working together) we should be able to go to that co-worker and tell them how you feel. Then what- get fired when that "CO-WORKER" lies and tells the boss that you were picking on them? There is definitely a "FORKED-TONGUE" in our presence...Does anyone else want to step up to the plate now? Remember, facts only please...
