We thought we would try the new pizza place on our way home to the Berkshire's,from our weekly round trip to and from Hudson,Ny. Normally we pick up a pie or two at the Pizza Den which we've done for years. While we found the Zia's place to be nice, the pizza just doesn't compare to the Pizza Den's.
The sauce and dough were almost frozen supermarket Pizza quality. After two try's at at Zia's were sticking with what we found at the Pizza Den ,GOOD PIZZA!

I have been going to Zia's regularly for the past few months and I will probably not go there again after the last experience that I had. My order was simple, and the woman preparing it was PAINFULLY slow and rude, and the order was not prepared correctly in the end. She had a really bad attitude and glared at me while she was speaking to her husband in Italian. All I asked was that my order not be put in a plastic bag because I was eating it in the restaurant. Zia's is not well-managed, and their food is not excellent, especially the salads, and I prefer to spend my money somewhere where I and my dollar are respected.

This location has had several chances to redeem themselves after a terribly inadequate meal there. The pizza is horrible, the service is shameful and although I practically live next door I would much rather drive to Valatie to get a decent sub at Subway...this place is not worth your money- Pizza Den is much better

I too, tried the Zia's pizza and agree it does not compare to Pizza Den and the prices were higher. I just have to wonder what motivates this place to move into two towns and set up shop right near long established pizza places?

The place is horrible. I have given it many chances, and it has failed every time. I kept ordering a buffalo chicken wrap a certain way, and they got it wrong every time. Once they gave me a wrap with regular chicken with a side of buffalo dipping sauce. My wife ordered antipasto salad, and they didn't take the wrapping off the salami! She nearly choked to death. The pepperoni sub I ordered had a quarter of the amount of meat it was supposed to have - and no sauce. Very dry! Basically all of their subs were terrible. I ordered hot wings and got nuclear. Couldn't even finish one. Their pizza is dry and tasteless. The whole place is aweful and inconsistent. The only thing they are consistent about is the food being terrible. Will never eat there again. I gave them too many chances and will now only go to Pizza Den.

All these posts are probably done by pizza den and there employees if you think pizza den is pizza then you do deserve to eat garbage and card board I'm sorry but I've lived in Chatham
For years and I've also lived in NYC, Chicago and Boston and ZIas is the real thing it's not there fault that you have been so used to eating cardboard that once you try the real thing you think it's bad I love the pizza you got a great thing going ZIas keep up the great work it's good to finally have a place to enjoy a great pizza

I agree with you. I've been to NJ and NYC many times and Zia's is the closest I have been able to find so far around Chatham. If you want to drive all the way to East Greenbush, go to Pizza My Love. But, if you're stuck between a "Pizza" Den and a Zia's, Zia's is the best choice. Pizza Den's sauce always has a burnt taste to it, their ovens and work stations are always dirty, and the people there aren't all that friendly either. I've only had one issue with Zia's, and since then the delivery boy was fired and the owner made up for the mistake. His wife, I agree is not all that friendly, but I have been going there since they opened, and he is a very nice person once you get to know him. Some of the employees slack off, but the quality of the pizza is better. If anyone thinks that Pizza Den is better than Zia's, they obviously have never tasted real pizza; only greasy, dripping, nasty pizza made with burnt sauce, low grade cheese, and left overs from the night before. If you are going to a pizzaria for a sub, I suggest you lower your standards unless you want to drive down to the city.

I've been eating Pizza Den forever...it's the best
pizza in town and fairly priced. I find the quality of the ingrediants to be of the highest caliber and the owner of this shop keeps a clean kitchen. I also think Zia's is silly for opening next to a place so well established....waste of time for them....I cannot comment on their food since I would not waste my money or be disloyal to the Pizza Den....why fix whats not broken???

I agree with whoever said that Pizza Den workers must be posting all the bad reviews for Zias. We'd noticed Pizza den quality of service and food declining over the past two years, but gave Pizza Den one more chance (after years of loyalty) before trying Zias. The Pizza Den food was unsatisfactory. The pizza was doughy, the ingredients sparse but greasy (right through the box), the taste bland. The space is worn out, was hot, and seemed dirty. The workers acted like we were annoying them asking for service--aloof attitudes. We went to Zias. Friendly staff. Clean, welcoming, comfortable counters, coolers, and eating area. Pizza was wonderful, not greasy, excellent dough, fabulous flavors. Sorry, Pizza Den, seems being the only pizza place tight in the Village lured you into letting yourself go. Watch out--Zia's has the right business model, the right attitude, and the right way to make pizza.
