Does anyone remember Suzanne's Kitchen?
I have very fond memories of the place.
It was a great place for a Parmesan roll and coffee
in the morning. I would usually go there during the week and on weekends go to the Thornton Farm Kitchen.

Yes, I worked with Suzanne in Cambridge MA in early 70's & visited cafe when it was in Ashland. I often wondered what happened to her.

I used to work at susannes kitchen in ...gee...
1981 or 2...

14 kinds of bread... yup, bagels too... and giant cinnamon rolls, and wait- to die for honey banana cream cheese pie. I remember open mic night... was it called Thursday night at Suzannes?

I wish I had kept some of her sourdough starter alive!

Suzanne's Kitchen was always my favorite venue to perform! The best audiences in the world, and her hospitality was second to none.

My husband Rob and I just had dinner with Suzanne and her husband Pete last Sat night in Plymouth. I also worked with her both in Ashland and Plymouth for a number of years. We will have a 20th reunion of the closing Nov 6th at our dance and entertainment barn in Sanbornton. Hope to have many of the patrons and original performers there, recreating Thursday & Sunday Nights at Suzanne's Kitchen. The original books (brand new) by Chet and Martha will be available at the event.

How can I find out more about the Nov 6th reunion? Would love to go. I worked briefly at Suzannes Kitchen in the early 90's. I still dream about the veggie burgers...

My brother, Tadd, was in that book, Chuck.
That was such a great place. In addition to the poetry, Tadd's band, Stryngdinner, played there.

Suzanne's was at 36 South Main street same location of the current
Ashland House of Pizza. Google has a street view.

When was Suzanne's in Ashland? I've lived a mile from 36 S. Main since 1988 and visited the pizza place in 1984 or 5.

It opened in the 1970s and closed, I believe, in 1991.

I think the original name in Ashland was "Local Motive', maybe renamed Suzanne's when she moved to Plymouth? I was in high school, living in an apt over the old IGA, when Tom and Suzanne came to town. Remember wandering down there, so bored from sitting on the 'wall', and helped Tom paint the homemade wooden awning bright red. He was always tinkering with his VW microbus, trying to keep it running. They were great people, she had some great ideas for food, never a dull moment in that place.

They opened in 1974 or 1975, prior to that the Vintage Fret shop, which packed up, and moved down the river.

Good day to any Suzanne's Kitchen fans!

PLEASE HELP ...

I'm haunted by a memory of a "healthy" snack bar offered at the SK bakery. Molasses, oats, nuts? dried fruit? dark in color, dense, chewy ... can anyone refresh my memory ... what were these things???

I LOVED THEM SO MUCH!!! As a HS student, I would ride my bike to Ashland anytime I had extra $ to buy four and I would eat them all on the way home. Lived in Plymouth.

Such a life.

Thanks for any help but a recipe sure would be super nice!!!
