We were expecting to adopt a newborn in January, but the mother changed her mind at the last minute. We got all prepared - got the nursery ready and everything. We had to go through the entire Adoption Home Study Classes and Inspection process and are currently Approved as Foster OR Adoptive Parents. We would love to hear from you if you cannot keep your child and want to adopt the child out... We would keep this an Open Adoption if that is what you would want. Or if you just need someone to take custody of your child or children we are interested in that as well.

That is pretty rude of you! This person is really seeking to adopt a child that someone doesn't want or can't keep. That is a better option than finding a child throwed in a dumpster somewhere just because the parent didn't want it....

Oh your totally right, the BEST place to find a child for adoption is on topix..how silly of me, everyone not wanting to keep their unborn child goes right to this website to announce it.

But your right, I was totally rude, and they (and you) were totally ignorant.

You are probably right - it probably was not bright of me to post that on Topix and you were totally rude in your response. But that is OK - it was exactly what I expected. However, there are some things you may not understand about non-relative adoptions. There are basically 3 ways to adopt 1) Through the state or a private agency for children that have been abused or neglected; 2) Private adoptions where the mother chooses the parent and freely gives up her child legally because she nor her family can take care of the child; 3) private agencies that adopt out babies either domestically or foreign and this generally costs between $30 - 40,000 to adopt one baby. I cannot afford option #3. We are approved through option #1 with a private agency but that is a long process waiting for a young fairly healthy child. To get # 2, you have to Network and advertise yourself. This is quite common and there are couples all over the internet registered with websites such as Adoption.com , AdoptionNetwork.org , and various law firms, OBGYNs, etc. Some of there are the $30-40,000 options. There are big law firms that charge this amount to "search" the web, put out feelers, advertise on websites, newspapers, et cetera. However, as I said before, I cannot afford this big price tag (and none of that money goes to the mother, by the way) so I just try to network myself. Sound goofy ? It probably is... But that is OK - live and let live. Good luck in your ventures.

Cheryl, I read your post on another thread and my heart goes out to you! People that have not walked in your shoes cannot start to realize how desperate and frustrating this process can be. I have watched several movies where the theme folllows your situation.....and I always end up crying and thanking the good Lord for blessing me with two beautiful healthy children. Wishing you good luck and only the best in your quest!!!

I have to respectfully disagree with you. They were not ignorant in posting what they did. Your response was the only ignorant thing on here. Not being able to have a child when you really want one can be devastating. And for you to mock someone like that is actually pretty sick. Topix isn't the best place for this kind of thing but that doesn't give you or anyone else the right to make fun of someone for doing it. At least this topic doesn't include sh!t like "so and so are whores. so and so are on pills. so and so do this and so and so do that." Next time just think better you let those fingers go to typeing.

Actually, I know a lot about adoptions as I was raised in a family with adopted siblings so therefore I know the price of adoption in the end is much more than 40k, try doubling that. J=However, I just don't feel as if want ads are the way to go by any means....nor do I think people not wanting to accept the responsibilty of raising a child would EVER turn to a website such as topix for their adoption needs. You can put in to be in a book that they give to mothers who are planning on adopting their children, they are private adoptions, and all you would pay would be a set fee to get your bio in the book...I also have no idea where one would find an agency like that, just know they are used in private adoptions.
And "A Mother" as your heart may go out to this lady, are you going to carry around a baby for 9 months for her?? That's what I thought, so even though you may "care" you not helping her by any means. So go watch your kids and get off the internet.

Make up your mind, was it ignorant for them to post here or not, you couldn't quite decide.

What if someone is wanting to give their baby up and have no family whatsoever? There are people like that in this world and I am one of them so back off.

Makes me sick when people want to adopt a baby when they don't even take care of the couple of kids that they already have. There parents take care of them. Wake the hell up because your poor momma don't need another darn child to take care of. Why not try being a parent to the ones you already have

If you want to give your baby away, I wouldn't hold it against you. Someone would love to have it.

Mandy if you truly want to adopt out your baby, please let me know. Leave an email address where we can contact you. But please only if you're serious. We've been through two failed adoptions and seven miscarriages.

Mandy, if you want to keep your baby, you can. You could join a church and there would be people there who would help you with your baby. You can get government assistance to pay for everything until you get ready to go to work. When there's a will, there's a way.

Giving your child up for adoption is NOT a bad thing. It's a truly selfless thing to do. It takes a very strong woman with a great deal of love for her child to make that choice. No one should be pressured or feel guilty for making either decision. Many churches help facilitate adoptions. Mandy, you have to do what is best for you and your child. Only you know what that is.
