I use Appalachian Wireless. I get prepaid service for $10 for two months. Can't beat that deal if you dont use your phone much.

Does applachian wireless have a prepaid data plan? Also, does it cover the folowing counties without roaming charges, Powell, Madison, Fayette, Laurel and Whitley counties. I have checked their website and can't make heads or tails of thier plans.
Has anyone used Verizon Wireless or T mobile or cricket?

i have straight talk and its good service most of times but if its storming really bad i loose it til it clears up but i like my straight talk phone and its not really that high either. i paid 75 dollars for my phone the first time. then the 45 dollar pre paid card but they have the 30 dollar pre paid that u have to get every month. so i like and no roaming charges on it either. So if you live between mountains then it might be hard to get service. so might want to check it out before you pay alot for a phone.

How much do you pay each month for your service? Do you have a data plan?

Mine is kind of costly since I have four phones on my plan with unlimited data on 2 phones, unlimited text on all phones with 1500 minutes and free nights and weekends and insurance. It's roughly 200 a month. I've been extremely happy with Verizon. They work with their customers and their bills stay right at the same month after month unlike AT&T and Appalachian.

That isn't bad for that many phones and the services plus insurance you have. I think for just one phone with texting and data with either applachian or at t it is about 100.00 month.
Truthfully, I would like something that is prepaid right now as I am not working and I do need a new phone. I have no clue what type of phone to get that would not cost a small fortune to buy.

I understand that. If you go to the Verizon website they have prepaid phones with unlimited calls texts and data as well as a pay as you talk plan.
