Yea there was a OD it was crystal helton and she gets wat she deserves. I personally think she has no business at all with her innocent child around her if she cant keep the pills out of her nose and. The needle out of her arm. She has a real good reputation now... sleeping with ever guy that will have her, rape(supposingly) and now over dose. Its sad to say its christmas eve a time when she needs to be with her child but instead se was dopes up tryin to sell stuff to buy her another pill. Good way for ur familys x mas to turn out

Someone you are wrong. If pot was left alone 25 years ago we wouldn't be in this of world we stuck with.but the doctors and drug story's wouldn't be as rich.all this is lega dealing paid for by medical cards.

A 38-year NIH-funded study, published this year in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, showed that people who used cannabis heavily in their teens and continued through adulthood showed a significant drop in IQ between the ages of 13 and 38-an average of eight points for those who met criteria for cannabis dependence. Those who used marijuana heavily before age 18 (when the brain is still developing) showed impaired mental abilities even after they quit taking the drug. These findings are consistent with other studies showing a link between prolonged marijuana use and cognitive or neural impairment.
Not to mention that there is a relationship to long term pot use and psychosis-related illness. That was established in 2010. Yet we want to legalize this drug.

You're right. We don't need to legalize it. We just need to knock the back end out of the jails with the dealers who are pushing it and all the other illegal drugs!!!!!!!!!!

This may be true in a few cases in people who have enough willpower to stop at marijuana but most people simply don't have that kind of willpower so once they are in it they stay in it and go on and use other drugs. They usually have all kinds of excuses for using drugs hoping that it will make it o.k. for them to do so, blaming it on other people. However, it all just comes down to personality issues and willpower. These people fall prey to the DRUG DEALERS!!!!!!!!!!

I have problems with alcohol as well. I don't like the fact that we sell it in this county or any county. So when I talk about drugs I am also talking about alcohol. I personally think the best way to deal with our substance abuse problem is three fold...First education, then prevention and lastly stiffer penalities for those caught under the influence or doing criminal activities while under the influence. Combine all this with a prison and jail system that makes one want to never return will solve a lot of our problems. Start the stiffer penalities and the harsher conditions with the juvenile facilities and then with the adult facilities. Right now they think of correctional facilities as a vacation. One that they get everything they want except thier freedom. Most criminals are repeat offenders and they started as juveniles.

If we did the things I recommended then they wouldn't need help. They wouldn't be doing the drugs and alcohol in the first place. And for certain they wouldn't be doing things to make repeat trips to jail or prison. They would have an incentive to stay clean and the tools to do it with.
How many substance abusers have you worked with? How many prisioners have you worked with? I have worked with many of both. To many actually. I got burned out and quit. I couldn't take seeing these people screwing up thier lives and not taking the help that was given for free. I got tired of seeing the same faces come in the jail and prison doors. I got tired of them using the system as a vacation place. They didn't care to go to jail or prison. They got clothes, roof over thier head, medical care, food, cable tv, satellite radios all for free. THey didn't mind that they couldn't go anywhere but where the guards told them. They didn't care that they didn't have thier freedom. Why should they when they have everything they need with just a complaint to someone?

I am not judging them. They will have to answer for thier mistakes the same as I will one day. But your family is few and far in between. I too have had family members that beat the addiction. I even lost a cousin due to addiction. He was doing great and then he had a relapse. He was found dead in the back of a car with his dope buddies. He just couldn't beat the addiction as badly as he wanted too. However, the vast majority don't have any desire to beat the addiction. Like I said why would they? THey get everything they need to live. If they are not in jail or prison, they have other government assistance, such as HUD, Medical Card, Foodstamps, LINHEAP, WIC(if children under 5), welfare, and most of the time disabilty for themselves, thier signifcant other and all thier children. As those children are labele as ADHD, or are really disabled because of thier drug use.
I am just being realistic. I have worked over thirty years with the public in some shape or form. I have seen things that make me wonder what our founding fathers would say if they knew what we had become. Not to mention the well being of FDR and his new deal program. He meant well, but it has been taken to far.

Thing is, people like to Judge other people constantly. A junkie will always be a junkie, it's not what they are doing, it's them doing whatever they want. Best example are these bath salts. Seriously we can't have salt for the bath now because some junkie sniffs it? I personally don't use salts in my bath, but the point being... People usually try to deal with stuff in their life and get on drugs or drink, it's not the substance it's the person. Now of course I am not referring to terrible drugs such as crack and heroin, that stuff will change someone, but drinking and pot, if someone is addicted to those things, just means they are trying to cover their hurt, whatever it may be. Perhaps they just like making people miserable, but to say pot is the starter of all drug use is crap, that's like me telling a judgmental fat ass that they are fat because they had use of a fork. Not the forks problem you are fat. Same with the guns, the person shooting is responsible, not the gun or the bullets.
Stay focused on you, your family and all your own business in 2013 and maybe you will find all the Judgments you make on others are just your own negative feelings you have about yourself, trying to make you feel better about whatever it is you feel inadequate about.
