I do. She was a great teacher. Her maiden name was Rose I think. I never knew that in school.LOL I was wondering not to long ago where she was. Remember that El Camino she drove? I loved that black and white thing.LOL I also remember the way she would send her "pick" to get her coffee, or whatever she needed. Her pick was someone she thought she could trust, but it didn't matter who your parents where. She never played favorites.
She didn't really teach literature, but boy did she teach basic English. Thanks to her, I was way ahead of my peers in college.

She had me to go and get her coffee on ocassion. I also got the job of going to her el camino and retrieving some papers. It was a mess.LOL I would like to see her and just tell her thank you. She taught me how to write a proper sentence.
I also would like to see Dewey Lawson for the same reason. He actually taught me some literature my senior year in his Advance English class. He didn't take just anyone. Everyone that signed up for his class had to have his approval or you were assigned another class. There were two of us in his class that didn't make very good grades in other areas, but we did in English. Both of us went on to graduate college. He, like Mrs. Peavely, saw something in us that others didn't.
I think the only bad teacher I had in all my years was Donnie McQuinn. That man was a joke as a teacher. But I will give him this much credit. He could have drew disability and not worked a day. But he chose to make something of himself.
I remember her too

I forgot how quiet her classes where. You could litterally hear a pin drop in class. She expected you to do your very best. If you were only capable of making C's, then that is all she expected, but if you were capable of A's, then she expected A's. This is one thing I have carried over in private life. All the kids that I have had the pleasure of being a part of thier lives would tell you, I expect them to do the best they could whatever the best is.
I remember how her whole body would shake when she wrote on the black board.LOL For some reason I can't remember the gold shoes.

Se busted me on a few occasions for sleeping in her class. I had these thick glasses. I decided that I would get them tinted real dark as I didn't like the fact that they were thick. Plus I was bored in her class as it was my second year with her.(I didn't fail, I just decided I liked her better than McQuinn) She set me in the front row, right smack in front of her desk.LOL Those dark glasses didn't help any. Thank goodness I was an A student and a well behaved student. She had a quiet way of showing you how disappointed she was in you without making you angry. I have never learned how to do that.
