I dont understand why you would say that. She did a great job with that store. Why do you think save-a-lot would be willing to pay her so well to leave the dollar store and run this new place? They could hire who ever they wanted and they wanted her.

I liked the dollar store alot better when Charlotte was there. I use to like shopping there but not anymore. her store was clean her employees wasn't rude but now you cant walk through that store and you cant even get waited on ,they run one register Savealot hired a good person.

I agree Charlotte was a friendly person and shes always speaking. the people there its a joke hell u cant wake thru the isles due to all the boxes and crap that they have out in the store. so dont say Charlotte ran that into the ground. She was one of the best managers thats been in the store there. at least when she was there there wasnt lines of people standing in line wanting to be checked out. now thats all u do when u go in there is to wait in line to be waited on. some of the people in there are rude but some are nice. so it goes both ways.

I agree with everyone. Charlotte done a wonderful job with the dollar general store. I walked out of the store last week because of the lousy service. They had all these workers just walking around doing nothing, not even stocking the shelves and only one register open. I am sorry, but that is just unacceptable in my book, especially if people are in a hurry. This was during the rush hour and they should had at least 2 registers opened. I like the Family Dollar anymore as the clerks are friendly and I can get in and out in just a matter of minutes. True they don't have quiet as much as the dollar store. But then again, I make at least one trip a month to stanton or winchester to do the bulk of my shopping as the prices make it worth my money for gas.
We need a save a lot so bad for the elderly and the diabled that are not able to get to other places. I personally like save a lot as they have a lot of good quality stuff for a fraction of the price of local grocery stores, such as Jack's IGA in Beattyville, SLoane's in Jackson and lets not even mention the local IGA.

well since i am such a bad employee after working there for almost 7 years and 6 of them being under Charlotte i am calling it guits,, i gave my 2 week notice on Friday.. i have always tired my damnest to be a hard working employee and i go out of my way to help my customers and be friendly to all but i can only do what i am told to do and if every employee doesnt pull they own weight its not fair to blame everyone,,but there is alot more to that place than just running the register,, its hard as hell to work out 2 trucks a week and do everything else also.. but anyway at the end of the month you all will have one less person to run into the ground...i leave saying i tired my best and at the end of the day i know that for myself...

Your best is all yu can do. You have nothing to be shamed about.Yes, it is hard work and the clerks usually get the brunt of the critisim. But the real shame lays in the management. They should either have more workers or make ALL of the workers do thier job. If the workers don't then they should be told not to let the door hit thier a** on the way out.
If this is who I think it is I know you did your best and you were always friendly to me and everyone else that came into the store. I also know that you did your job.

Thanks to the people who think enough to say a kind word,, cause it seems that people spend to much time saying mean and hurtful things than trying to find the good in the situation sometimes and unless u have walked in someones shoes think before you judge.. i will greatly miss all the friends i have made during my years at DG....for the most part i have enjoyed helping my customers all these years,,who knows you may see me around town in another location...Good-bye friends(for now)!!!!

as a matter of fact since the dollar general is about all people have in Campton yes there are lots of rush hours especially when school lets out so laugh of ya want but i have worked through it many times and yeah its funny as hell to listen to people tell us to work alittle faster,,i laugh all the time....

True this rush hour is not like the ones in the bigger cities but we have one all the same. Have you ever been in town about 2:30-4:00pm on a school day? There is a lot of traffic. Same thing around 7:30-8:00am in the morning. Lots of traffic. Lot of people stopping in to get last minute items they need.
Or worse yet during the first of the month? THen everyone gets thier welfare, SSI, foodstamps, etc checks and it is really bad. If you worked during this time the only place that has more of these bills is the banks.

You know it is a shame that you ignorant and you are ignorant and rude people don't know that it is not the employees or the managers fault that the store is the way it is it is your fault. Do you know how most of you come in there and tear stuff up and the workers has to go behind you to fix it. I go there from Jackson to shop and I think the store has improved 80% since the new manager took over. At least you can get a clean cart or buggy and the freezers are clean now. Also I notice they clean the shelves and they sure stay stocked a lot better than when Charlotte was there. She will not last at the Save-a- Lot because they are already tired of her at the one she is training in. You people should walk one day in those peoples shoes there and have to deal with people like you that get on here and post. Probably you haven't had to work aday living on food stamps and welfare or SSI. You wouldn't know what it is like to go into a store and have to pull the hours these people work so bitch all you want I think you are just stupid and I think Charlotte is doing most of the posting on here because the store is looking better. She has her little flunkies to post for her. And that is my take on it. I have worked in the public before and there is just plain rude overbearing people everywhere. I have never been in there and there be a line, so ever who posted that is just plain lying. The same people that works there now was working when Charlotte was there. She hired them so what does that tell you.

Funny same people that worked for Charlotte works now. I just love the way "Charlotte" brags on her self. It just tickles me to death. I am quite sure Save-a-lot looked all over and said here is Charlotte Hatton look at the DG store and see what really a good job she has done there and lets hire her. Personnally she had to apply for the job at Save-a-lot and like most stores they go by what she put on her application. I have seen what a job it has been for that store to be cleaned up after the "Charlotte mess" The freezers were unreal nasty the carts and baskets that people had to put their food in was bad and the shelves had an dust on them, because she didn't know how to do anything and furthermore I am sick and tired of people getting on here and complaining about boxes being in the isles. If you go there on truck day the people are stocking what do you expect them to go and get one can at a time from the stock room. Get real or are you just ignorant. Charlotte is trying to put a business down that she run down for years by her ineptness. I am sorry but if she does save-a-lot like that she will be fired she won't have to quit. But friends of Charlotte and Charlotte keep posting. Do you think this is making you look better. It is funny that the only time anything was posted on here was when she quit. I have been in that store when she was there and now and I can tell a big improvement. Really big because the workers has someone to lead them now. They do the best they can with the amount of business they get and it is funny that the store stays so full most of the time every register running so there is no long lines so quit getting on here and lying and accusing people of wrong "Charlotte" personally you are stepping on someone's family when you get on here and bad mouth someone that is working as hard as these people are working to clean up your mess. Maybe Save a lot needs to know and see what had to be done in that store to clean it up after Miss Charlotte. You know that community is big enough for all the stores that is there including Save a lot. The DG will have products Save a lot doesn't as well as Save a lot will have things they don't so quit getting on here and putting down what little businesses you all do have. It is ashame there is so much jealousy and no one has bad mouthed you Charlotte, but you keep on bad mouthing people that are not bothering you. You are trying to hurt the people that you hired at the dollar store. You hired them so why are you and your friends trying to hurt them. According to this post you have no loyalty to anyone and you sure will not to Save a lot. You can't be two-faced when working in a job. That is all I have to say on the matter.

The last time I was at the Dollar General Store, the grass had not been mowed this Spring. That certainly does not reflect well on the store and their management. It reflects adversely on our community. I don't recall that being an issue last year. Perhaps the new management team could find someone to cut the grass - quite unsightly and does not invite customers into the store. I would also imagine there are slitherly creatures lurking in the tall grass!

Talk to the owner of the building they are the ones who are suppose to mow That is not the managements job. Evidently someone stepped over the line by hiring over the stores policy. Again bad management instead of letting the person that is suppose to do the mowing do it. Another friend helped by letting them mow. And as far as management, management is working 80 plus hours a week to clean up from the previous management. Everytime I have been there, there has been a heck of a lot of people there so personally I don't see how that is bothering anyone. The owners of the property is suppose to mow the lot not management. And personally do you think it would be fair for someone that works for a business to hire out of their pocket to mow someone elses lot. Get facts straight before you post stuff you don't even know what you are talking about. Another one of the prior managements lies. If you have complaints talk to the owner of the property. The management has enough problems dealing with the pettiness of people like you.

Almost every time I go into the DG, the place is full and they only have one register open. But I look around and I see at least three other closed registers and at least four or five people running around doing nothing unless it is truck day. I have heard the only clerk yell for help many a time and no one paid any attention to her.
The only reason this place gets as many customers as it does is because we have no where else to shop in Campton besides the Family Dollar. It was the same way when Charlotte was manager too as far as customers. If we get a save a lot they will hurt Dollar General and Family Dollar. I can remember when we had a somewhat decent grocery store in Campton and these other two places did not have a great customer base. Wait and see people.
