Have any of you looked up in the sky to see the black helicopters flying over our houses? These are unmarked and ugly and make lots of noise. They fly low to the ground and have lights on them at night. My son has noticed these flying over early in the morning, like say 3 or 4 a.m. These are not hospital helicopters. They are FEMA helicopters. He has also spotted white, unmarked trucks or vans parked on our street, just parked there. No, we are NOT paranoid. Just wanted to make you all aware of these things.

YES!! I have seen them in the Saloma area several times. They fly over very slow and have huge bright lights on them. Was kinda creepy seeing it the first time. It's been going on for a few weeks now.
Scared the crap out of my daughter when she first saw it. It was like it was hovering over one of our fields.

What are they doing? Does anyone know?

Why would they be looking for illegal crops at that time of the night? Isn't 11 pm and 4 am a little late to be out flying over peoples houses with those noisy ass choppers?

They use infrared scope to seek out heat signatures of illicit crops.

I did some googling and found out these helicopters are taking "supplies" back and forth to a "remote" place for storage. Now, just where is this "remote" place? Are they bringing "supplies" into Taylor County? Or taking things out of Taylor County to somewhere else?

You can call me beserk if you want to, but there is an awful lot of footage on You Tube and other Internet sites about these FEMA camps. These black helicopters are US Army brand, but they are working for FEMA, too. The article I read said they do these flights between 11 p.m and 4 a.m. Now, why do you think they're choosing the time while most of us are trying to sleep to do their flying? I have seen these monsters during the afternoons as well, hovering over our backyard, yet you can't see them sometimes for cloud cover. You can definitely HEAR them.

If there was a FEMA camp around here, where would it be located? Other FEMA camps are in "remote" areas. These are places with access to major roads, an airport, or railway. There's no railway here that I know of. We DO have an airport. These camps are located in places that have woods, lots of trees, and where there is access to water. Check them out on You Tube, watch for yourselves. I know of two listed for sure in Kentucky -- one in Louisville and one in Lexington. There is a list of FEMA camp sites state by state if you google.

I live past Wal-Mart (not saying where exactly) and Saloma is not far from where I live. Are these helicopters just flying around our neighborhoods -- maybe on their way back and forth from the Elizabethtown/Radcliff areas?-- or are they flying around other parts of Taylor County as well?

you live out pretty close to me then.. i'm in the saloma area and we see them almost every night around 11pm or later. they just hover over the area of my mother's house and over our hay field and then eventually move on over our house going towards the E-town area most of the time.

oh and they are noisy, that's for sure. they scare my poor dogs to death when they fly over.

i don't think they are looking for illegal crops in my area..it's still a little early for that isn't it?

Those black helicopters are not FEMA they belong to a part of the Gov. that's top secret they are looking for something that crash in the area that they can't find. If I was you stay indoors b/c if they know that u was watching they movement they give you a visit and you really don't want that to happen b/c most people who get a visit are never seen again?

I don't think there are THAT many crashes THAT often around here. What would crash?

If not: Did you just threaten me?

PattyTCakes: I'm not laughing.

How bout somebody call the airport some day when you see one of these things and see what they tell you is going on? I'll bet you won't get a straight answer from them -- just like no one's going to get a straight answer from the RECC.

Stop getting so worked up over some helicopters. Are you growing something, why are you so paranoid? Not being mean, it's just weird.

There is nothing growing in the backyard except lots of trees and shrubbery and flowers. Same thing in the front yard.

No, I'm not paranoid.

Of course it's "weird."

I bet if they were flying over your house and just hovering there, in odd hours, you'd be concerned as well.

Or might YOU be one of the pilots or know someone who is?

I might sound a little "weird", and be very inquisitive, but I am by no means stupid. There is a reason for everything. From my own experience, if you ask questions, and you never get a straight answer, there IS usually SOMETHING ELSE going on...
