What a stupid poll.

Animals should be treated ethically. They should never be treated with cruelty.

A great man once said that the greatness of a nation and it's moral progress can be judged by the way it's animals are treated.

They have "rights" as living beings to be treated kindly and with some compassion... and even respect in some form..

Should they have the right to vote? Obviously not... but as living things, yes, they do have some rights... Especially considering that many animals are public service animals..

Also legalizing homosexuality, abortions and the destruction of the traditional family could show strong signs of the nation of moral decay and destruction.

LOL, you read me all wrong. I was only committing on the decline of the traditional family which is a major key to the moral structure of the nation wouldn't you agree?

Just because I raise questions about the Mormon doctrine and what they teach doesn't mean I'm bashing them. I was the one being bashed.

God gave man dominion over animals, so they don't have any rights. That doesn't mean you should abuse them but use them as God intended, to eat or use for labor or other products to benefit man.

Your comment had nothing to do with animals Brad. It's your political views coming to light again. This is another poll you created that, nothing should happen to Michael Vick. If you are going to own an animal Brad. Yes, you need to feed it, take care of it, make sure it gets the care it needs. If you totally neglect the animal you own. You shouldn't have any rights. The choice is yours. This should come with fines and, possible incarceration. I am not equating animals with humans Brad but, Your poll and, views of animals and, who owns an animal are very grey. If someone owns dogs and, fights them, which is illegal. Why shouldn't the owner be punished?

I challenge any of you to read about factory farming.
The raising of our "meat", "poultry", eggs etc. in factory farms is definitely different from anything we country folk think of as farming.
After reading about the factory farms, you will probably start buying your eggs from one of those places with "fresh eggs" signs, you'll be going to one of the slaughter houses in the county instead of the grocery store to buy you meat.
Start with factoryfarms.com .
Then we can have a better educated discussion about animal rights.

Factory farming is animal abuse, pure and simple.

This "poll" is not clear enough. What animals are meant? Wild animals, free range livestock, pets, service animals, etc.

No animal should be treated cruelly; however, pets need to be trained, livestock needs to be butchered, wildlife needs to be managed.

Agreed.

Based on his posting on other threads, Brad believes animals have no soul. He believes that God gave man permission to do whatever he wanted with animals. I also think that Brad has no experience with ANY animals, he just shoots off his mouth.
I'm sure he will give us a non sequitur or Bible verse as a response to these posts.

What would Grasshopper say about animal rights? He was, after all, a small member of the animal kingdom.

Kwai Chang did not have a traditional family or traditional religion and he turned out okay didn't he? Oh, wait a minute. I guess he didn't. Talk about moral decline.
