isnt this a little young? Should the school allow them to be exposed at school?

I thought school dress code prevented showing of the skin in that area.
As long as they watch tv and look at magazines where belly buttons are pierced, they will want to do the same.
Don't parents have to okay those piercings of children that young?

I believe the parent's have to sign for them because they're under age.

I saw on of the tcms cheerleaders and she had a belly button ring. I saw her in her uniform! Very inappropriate!

I know the girl you are talking about, you would be surprised that her mom let her do this. The thing that irritates me is it is ok because she is a cheerleader, now had one of the other girls in the school had done it, they would have been disciplined. It's just like the dress code, certain kids are allowed to break it while others are sent home to change.

If that is the worst thing that child does then she will turn out pretty good. At least it is not on her face. Yes, parents have to sign for underage to even get their ears pierced. I wouldn't let my cheerleader daughter just for the fear of it getting ripped out when doing gymnastics or stunts. You all act like this is the biggest sin ever. Leave these young girls alone.

I have to agree, if that is the worst thing the kid has done leave it alone. Good grief!! There are much worse things to do than to pierce her belly button. She could be out sleeping around, stealing, doing drugs or drinking.

Blame the school for the show-all outfits.

It's wrong and parents like you are the reason kids grow up to fast to begin with. If you pierce your belly button you obviously are gonna want to show it off, is that what you want your daughter out and about exposing her bare body to everyone, boys included. Geesh I can't believe anyons fathers would go for this! I guess when your kids come home wanting tatoo's or experiment with drinking or drugs your gonna be ok with that also. Whatever it takes as long as shes popular!

The child would have to have a parent sign a release form for her to get her belly button pierce. And deciding if it is okay should be between her and her parents. But when she puts on a school uniform, different guide lines are put into place. She is representing her school, in several school teams rules it often states that body piercing should not be displayed while in inform..So in my personal opinoin the coach should of address the cheerleader to let know her belly button ring was showing and needs to leave the sideline and go to the bathroom and remove it until after the game

Whoever says that body piercings lead to a bad lifestyle or lead teens to a life of drinking and drugs, is an idiot. It's all just self expression. If the parent signs, what's the big deal? Granted, it should not be shown inappropriately or at inappropriate times.

You are obviously an idiot. OMG a belly button piercing will lead to sex, drugs and rock and roll. Alert the surgeon general! Glad you weren't my parent! Does your daughter wear a bathing suit from the 1920's. Your's will be the one that is rebellous and turns to sex, drugs and rock and roll! Get a life!

Oh yeah i have a belly ring i'm such a tramp, god i just really don't know what i will with myself, those drugs must really be getting to my head.
Rather or not we have holes in our bodies or tattoos we are all people, and half the time people with tattoos and piercings are a whole lot more friendly than with people that don't have them.
I hope you don't consider yourself a Christian because you are horribly judgmental.

Just when is the appropriate time for a young teen to show off her belly button????
And, what is the expression?????
If the parent signs, THAT is really a BIG DEAL!!!
It tells us a lot about the parent. Not good.

So what is the difference between ears pierced and a belly button? Just the location. Is someone that gets their nose pierced or eyebrow pierced a horrible person too? Think not.

It's a different world out there. Kids think that defacing their bodies is beautiful.
The body is beautiful. I guess the kids have just seen exposed to so much nudity that they have to graffiti it like a bare wall.

Go apply for a job with a ring in your nose and one in your eyebrow and see how far you get.Its not a good sign of character.

It's a big world out there. Maybe we could bring a Biker Bar into Campbellsville so that these sweethearts could have a place to work when they get older. In fact why don't we try to replace Sturgis and give our whole defaced population a job.

ok..you people are fussing over a belly ring when you should be throwing a fit about the uniforms they wear!!
if you can see her skin..the uniform is not covering the proper areas...not the childs fault. she didn't pick out that uniform.

try making the school dress your kids in proper uniforms that don't expose the skin you are so throwin a fit about in the first place.
