I was the Master of Ceremonies for Monday night. The girls all had a tent backstage and there was also runs of carpet for them to stand on. They were not standing in dirt.

We (Taylor Co Fair Board) had a new pageant coordinator this year because our long time pageant coordinator resgined in January. This year's coordinator did an outstanding job considering she was basically working off the cuff and learning as she went.

As for judges, they are getting tougher and tougher to get, but I know one of the judges from Monday is a fair pageant coordinator herself.

Personally, I thought the decisions were fine on the winners and I look for them Miss Teen in particular to do really well at state..and I've been to the state pageant a lot of times.

We will continue to have our pageants at the fairgrounds in the future.

Thank you for your support and any constructive ideas you might have you can email us by visiting our website at www.taylorcountyfair.org

Oh, and the coordinator of the pageant is Susan Seaborne. She is not a past police officer. There is a past police officer on the board who assisted her, but Susan was the coordinator and did a great job. There were girls from as far away as Winchester and Brownsville...and Campbellsville girls did not win...so I really don't see how you think it was bought with money?????

I am no longer a member of the Taylor County Board since I work for the state fair full time. However I do help them out and work at the fair and attend meetings.

It's amazing how much time is spent volunteering by these 25 people...yet all they ever hear from people are complaints. If those of you complaining gave your time and labor as much as these people do you would understand where I'm coming from.

But, as the old saying goes, you can satisfy some of the people sometimes but you cant ever satisfy all of the people all of the time.

I think the pageants are well done and the building was decorated nicely along with the stage. The girls DID NOT stand in dirt. I helped lay the carpet down on Sunday night so I know. I was backstage, so I know.

Bryan, my daughter competed in the preteen pageant and I was very pleased with the way it was presented. You are right, you cannot please everyone all of the time. And no, my daughter did not win, but it was an experience for her and she wants to do it next year. Thanks for the hard work done by all!

Thanks Fairgoer. The Taylor Co Board has worked hard to make our pageant as nice as possible. We try to go the extra mile for the girls and their parents. No, our set up isn't perfect...but...considering we lease the land from the American Legion and can't build any permanent buildings, we make do with what we have. I think moving it from the portable tent we've had it in to the hoop blg was a great improvement.

Hopefully one day we'll have our own fairgrounds and can put up a nice building to have pageants and things in during the fair, including a dressing area.

But for now, we will make the best with what we have to work with.

What about the Mrs. TC Fair? The winner was pretty, the others that placed...Yikes. 1 that placed was beyond a joke. There were many more ladies up there that were more poised and deff ,ore beautiful than her. The winner even went the wrong way off the stage and had to turn around. I thought the judges on this one needed to clean their glasses.

Well, beauty IS only skin deep. It's not all about looks, thank God! Also, most of these ladies are not professionals, especially in the Mrs. TC Fair. Like Brian said, leave it to a couple of people to notice the "wrongs" rather than seeing the positives.....anybody that can take the time to get on stage and compete deserves positives rather than negatives......

Its a pagent, it is all about looks and the question. I just noticed the "wrong" that the winner did, glad it wasn't held agaist her. She looked great. Yes they all do deserve praise for getting up there, but they really needed to choose the best ones, not the one whos whole family scream and yelled.(I'm glad they supported her, but that is not what you do at a pageant.) Back to my point was that there were other ladies that deserved to place over some of the court.

Ivy Essence Studios is the photographer. More photos will be posted to the Facebook Wall for Taylor County Fair. I will be downloading more as I can to my own. We are proud of all of our contestants. They were beautiful.

All I have to say is if TC wants to be a leafing fair they need to go by MODERN pageant rules! Give the judges standard to go by. If unsure what Modern standards are there is a Miss Kentucky system certification class coming up in June, 18th I think in Richmond. It's $35 and would give the coordinator the guidelines she needs to go by to really COORDINATE A PAGEANT! judges need pre printed score cards with criteria just like the Misd Ky system has. I challenge the fair to excel! Learn the rules and encourage the judges to judge accordingly! Back to the judges is very old school. I also saw the pre teen and felt several of the girls in the top 10 would have better represented TC. they won't do well at State bc they don't know the rules. But no one else realizes this bc they too don't know the rules! Educate yourself before you profess such knowledge to the Topix world!!

All a bit complicated for me and I should not bite on the ladies pageant board.

But do you all feel comfortable about sexuality your kiddies to fulfill your past dreams?

I guess so.

Yes Crikey, the lady wants all the credit for her genes producing such a lovely child and will push the girl away and pose for pictures herself.

Any addies I could test this theory with that you may have laying around?

Actually to tell the truth it sounds exactly like the discussion I listen to when horse people get together.
