Hey peeps I just started taking Ambien and I love it! I have always had trouble sleeping and I have tried alot of things but Ambien is the best by far. The only side effest I notice is that I always wake up hungry, I have alot of vivid weird dreams and I get a good buzz right before falling asleep.
Has anyone else taken this? What have been your side effects?

Don't take it unless there's someone else there with you. I haven't had this happen to me ...yet; but several people tell me they do strange things at night and can't remember doing them the next morning, but find evidence of doing things when they wake up. I know people who have fixed sandwiches and eatten them and find crumbs or pieces of the sandwich, woke up in the morning and found ice cream drum sticks melted in their bed, or bowls of melted ice cream in the bed. I even know of one woman ordering things from QVC in crazy sizes and not know what she did until UPS delivered the package. All of this is true!!!! No bullsh!t. So be careful with it until you know how you will react to it. I have had the vivid dreams, all the time. Just keep track of what you do or notice anything odd when you get up in the morning.

I don't take anything to sleep like a baby, but I have friends that take Ambien and they have absolutely cracked me up telling stories about when they take it. It makes people do really weird things, almost like a real good drunk. I have heard about the strange dreams, sometimes nightmares. Just be careful because I have also read horror stories on the Internet as well. You can probably Google and find some of the stories.

Thanks for the feed back. I do have people here with me. I will admit that I did something odd last night. I took 2 before falling to sleep last night and for some odd reason I woke up at 2:30am. I went to bed at 10:00 btw, and I do remember going to the fridge and eating a weird combination of foods that normally dont go together (Ham and strawberry jelly) and I kept going into the bathroom and starring into the mirror. It was like I was in a dream but I was still awake. I just hope that I dont wake up and do something really stupid like drive or something.

That drug sounds dangerous. It may not work for your but I noticed that a drink or two of an alcoholic beverage just before bedtime helps me sleep real good. If you are not a drinker, you shouldn't become one just because of this suggestion. I'm just saying this works for me.

The reason I started taking this is because I was on Xanax for the past 5 years and I wanted to get off of it for differant reasons. Ambien puts me to sleep where the Xanax couldnt and only made me into a walking Zombie and I was tierd of that.

i had some er docs give me some ambien when i was pregnant and having false labor, to help me sleep. i was in etown at the time and they said it would take an hour to kick in so they had me go ahead and take it and said i would be fine to go on and eat at ryans and sleep on the ride home. yeah it took bout 10 minutes to kick in. my husband and friend made fun of me the whole time at ryans. i couldnt even figure out where the ranch dressing was. that stuff is potent but i atleast i had fun for a moment.

I've taken Ambien since 2005 with no major side effects or long term effects whatsoever.

When I first started taking it, I did have some strange experiences as my body adjusted to it. I've never had a hallucination, but that's what I'd compare it to, nothing scary, just seeing things in sort of a weird dream-like state.

However, I've never seen any evidence of me getting up at night and raiding the fridge or doing things that I can't remember doing. There are nights that I fall asleep with the TV on and at some point turn it off at night and don't always remember when.

For me it has been a fantastic prescription that helps me to fall asleep and stay asleep for several hours with no "hangover" effect the next day.

I really think that most, if not all, of the weird stories people have supposedly done after taking ambien are urban legends or people who are hoping to find some reason to use their "lies" to eventually get involved in some sort of class action suit or something.

I'm a BIG advocate of it.

My mom, dad and myself take it and I have weird dreams with it. My parents act drunk sometimes. My son twice took it thinking it was his sleeping pill and he was very easily moved to crying. No it isn't an urban legend but don't take more than prescribed, it doesn't make a difference. I take a half sometimes and I can't tell the difference from taking a full dose.

I think the things u have heard about Ambien have been a little exaggerated by far. I have taken Ambien for some time, and have never experienced any of these things.

I always just take half of a 10mg tablet. Again, NO problems at all with it and I've been on it every night since 2005.

Etown give 2 to my friend when she was pregnant and she slept for 2 days straight and she end up having a still born baby... The baby was fine thru her whole pregnancy until they gave her that sleeping pill! I'm pregnant now and there's no way in hell I will let a dr give me ambien.. I would rather suffer no sleep thn lose my baby!

I am not saying that this isnt true but if it is then she is the only case out of 2 Billion people. I think that maybe Ambien wasent the only thing that was gave to her around that time. The baby could have been still born for hundreds of other reasons too. I hate that it happened but Ambien isnt to blame.
For the person that says they have taken it every night since 2005...you are only supposed to take it for 2 Months Max! This could really hurt you.
I do see the Police arresting more and more people for selling this on the street. it's street value is 3 bucks per pill and its popularity grows bigger every day.
