could you please show your proof that the university owns the sidewalks and these are NOT public sidewalks. Until you show your proof, it will default to the law of the land, which is sidewalks are public!

sooo.. if i replace the side walk in front of my house on a busy street that people walk up and down daily i can tell people that they can't walk on it cause it's mine? or stop and socialize and speak to others on it? or just stand there watching cars go by? nooooo

1 question. the sidewalk you want to build. is there one there already, or are you just going to place one on your property? if you are just going to place one there i would say you could put up no trespassing signs. i dont think it would do much good, but if a preacher came to stand on it and shout at you when you came and went i think you could get them removed by the police for tresspassing. |

it was a joke. pointing out that just because i may replace or put in a sidewalk that i can't control what is going on on it. i don't care that the guy was preachin or yelling...he could've been playing with fire for all i care--- what bothers me is that he said on the video that it would not be posted on youtube. yet there it is. the people walking by didn't give him permission to post it. i know several of the students walking by and i know that they don't want their faces seen. i do believe that he should be able to preach or whatever---the state/city ownes several feet on either side of all roads. so i don't think that he should've gotten ran off for that. but he said he wouldn't post the video and he did. he lied... that's not a Christian thing to do and it bothers me. I think that should be what more people should be complaining about-not that his rights were or were not violated but the students' rights WERE!

1 If his officers were not in the wrong, he would not have gone out of his way to apologize. I know the Chief. |

1 The comment about YouTube was made before the rights were violated. Had the police not come and threatened, I doubt you would have seen it on YouTube. Watch YouTube...watch a street preacher preach to a bunch of college students walking by.....how many hits would that get? |

1 oh. the know it all knows him. that is good enough for me folks. shut it down. stop the conversation. the know it all can vouch for it. |

If the preacher really wanted to make a point, he should have refused to leave. As far as I see it, since he was not arrested, he has no case. Was he not willing to stand up for his rights, even if it meant being arrested? If the sidewalks are public, then he should have stood his ground, as it is, he was just making noise.

i was there and the police officer grab his camera and shoved his hands behind his back like he was a criminal the police officer actually tried to turn off the camera security told me i had to get off campus and i was a student there i no longer go to cu i go to lindsey wilson now at least i dont have to worry about getting harassed by barney fife and andy (campus security dorks)

soo just because someone does him wrong and violates him he gets to violate others? nooo as a Christian you forgive, you don't broadcast the injustices you may encounter, you pray for the people that violated you, you pray that someone heard you before you got ran off. you discuss it with your churches friends or whatever---you don't broadcast the video of it. 2 wrongs don't make a right.. someone needs to remind that guy of it. |

1 You are mixing your issues here. Issue one....he was preaching the word of God. Issue 2.....his 1st Amendment Constitutional rights were being violated. If they had told him he was not allowed to spread the word on God on their campus because it offended the Christians (ha) walking by, that is one thing Campbellsville University considers itself highly conservative and believes both in Biblical Literacy as well as Constitutional Literacy. Yet, when it comes to constitutional rights, they actually performed just the opposite. That is something that people should know since they collect so much government money from the Republicans. I don't believe one should be silent when a large organization such as the local Police Department and a large University denies you your rights. |

1 Innocent until proven guilty??? No the know it all is judge and jury when it come to cville univ because they denied her a janitorial job there once. she should at least be honest and say she has a bias in this case. and you might want to re-read what you wrote. it is not proper use of grammar. cville univer has a right to kick tresspassers off of their campus. the police is the proper way of doing this. the univer was 100% in the right. the univ does not owe anyone a platform from which to exercise their const. rights. it does not matter if the dim wit know it all agrees or not. they did what they did, and there is nothing you or the so called preacher is, or can do about it.` |

you said it all McSilly.....Here is your quote:
"the univ does not owe anyone a platform from which to exercise their const. rights." I think I should send this to the people who are in charge of handing out all those government grants that C'ville University keeps getting. Campbellsville University does not believe that people should be allowed to exercise their consititutional rights. So stated by McGruff. |
