My husband and i have been employed for 5 years. Have yet to go a day without work. He's on his 2nd job and I'm on my 3rd. Quit saying that all of us are worthless. I work for what I have, thanks. And no one owes me shit, I owe it to myself to have a nice house, nice things, everything for my child.

You obviously wanted an opinion on your situation, you can't be upset when that opinion is different than the one you're looking for. Don't come to topix without expecting to be judged.

you got that sooooo wrong. If you show up for work and work really hard for amazon, it does NOT mean you will have a job, it means they will expect more and more and more and more from you till they stress you beyond belief and then they will fire you. Period

It sounds like human error just lead to some extraordinarily bad shift scheduling decisions. Your facility should have used some sort of shift scheduling software package to make sure that everyone got the shifts that worked best for everyone, instead of the ones that were easiest to schedule. My warehouse uses a shift scheduling software package called EZShift ( http://www.ezshift.com ); using this system, the shift manager just puts in requirements for the shifts (minimum number of experienced workers, for instance) and characteristics of the employees (amount of experience, for instance), clicks a button and within minutes has an error-free schedule that takes into account those requirements and characteristics, as well as the employees' preferences. The shift manager can also use the system to communicate with his employees regarding shift preferences, schedules and last-minute changes. Click the link to see if shift scheduling software might help in your facility.

Really? Are you seriously complaining about having a good paying job with benefits? A business provides jobs to suit their business not your personal schedule. Quit or adapt, you are probably are person who whines when they get a .50 cent raise. There are people and families struggling to make ends meet and you're whining because you have a job that is well paid for unskilled labor that schedules to accommodate their customers rather than employees. Idiot, quit already

So what generation was responsible for raiseing this worthless group of individuals? I do believe the people in their 40's to retirement age were the ones responsible. I'm 27 have worked at amazon since I was 18 never had any problems! I know plenty of other people my age and even younger who have spent all or most of their adult lives working as well. Don't try to say everyone in one certain age range is worthless just because the people that you know and the members of your own family in that age range are worthless because obviously you dont know everyone!! And the ones you do know are apparent trash! A trait they inherited from you I would guess.
