Reminds me of the man I think who was at a San Diego Padres game a couple of years ago. He had no idea what "Hard" lemonade was and bought one for his younger son. The security guards saw it and took the boy away.
I think this parent did know exactly what she was doing and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law (whatever that is in Wisconsin for such a crime).

This is absolutely unbelievable! This "mother" should be fined to the maximum, and spend some well earned time behind bars for her poor decisions. 11-14 year olds? What on earth was she thinking? I couldn't even imagine serving alcohol to the ADULTS at a birthday party for a 12 year old, let alone thinking that it was a good idea to give it to children. How insane and unfit is this woman? Thank goodness that some of the kids had enough maturity to tell their parents about this mess of a mother!

When we moved to Wisconsin some years ago, we were appalled to see children served alcohol in taverns here with their parents' approval. The first time I saw it happen, I flagged the waitress down and gave her what-for. She said as a parent herself she was mortified at having to do that part of her job, but in Wisconsin it is (or at least was, not sure now) legal for a parent to order alcohol for their child in establishments that serve. I was skeptical until I saw it happen again in a different restaurant. The third time I saw it happen, it was a child I knew so I took the drink away and ordered her a virgin version of it.(Her parents didn't dare cross me.) Of all the idiotic laws for a state to overlook, this is/was one of the worst of them. I would think that MADD would be all over it, as well as child protection groups.

My 14 year old son's friend saw me drinking a "Hard Lemonade" and asked me how it was and could he have one? He did not realize that it was alcoholic. I laughed and said I was really glad that he didn't help himself to one assuming it was plain old lemonade. How would I explain that to his mother??

However, this woman *KNEW* what she was doing. She served champagne and hard lemonade.

I hope they prosecute her to the full extent of the law.

Suze, this is your second insanely stupid comment I've seen just today. You are a moron. Go to the nearest clinic or hospital and get your tubes tied ! Hopefully you not already raising "the next generation."

I used to have a beer or two with the "Old Man" starting when I was about 15 down at the local watering hole. I learned alot from him and his buddies, so I see nothing wrong with a responsible parent giving a teenager a beer or drink. My dad used to let me drink all I wanted to at home with one rule; I had to sober up before I was allowed to leave the house. I have traveled a bit in Belgium and France and it is common to see children in the local bars with parents and occasionally they are allowed to sample the spirits. I think that is why you don't see the level of binge drinking among the teenagers like you do here in the USA. They learn to drink responsibly. I am not condonning underage drinking; just something to think about.
