There are many scenic drives and hiking trails on the Frio River. We were able to explore them this spring while staying at Frio River Cabins, with Don and Lisa Yaklin (great place). This is a beautiful area. The hills and river are amazing. We will be coming back in the Fall to see the leave changes at Lost Maples.

Wait till all the illegal Mexicans move there. They will mess it all up. Lowriders, junk cars, driveby shootings, cholos with 10 kids by 8 different guys, Mexican flags flying, home invasions, trash dumped, pee stained mattresses all this and more dumped on the river bottoms and side of the roads.

I know many parts of what was once pristine hill country has been ruined by the mexes. The property values declined and crime increased sharply. They are like fire ants making their way north and trashing everything in their path. So sad.

Wow, I'm not sure where you went, but I absolutely loved where we were. I didn't see anything like that. I guess it depends where you stay. I meet a few families that were staying at Frio River Cabins and they seemed nice. I know it gets more crowded in Concan. And this place is kind of tucked away so?

We usually stay at the more upscale or secluded areas also. Mostly privately owned where they have the right to refuse the undesireables. Have had many wonderful times. If we decide to do a beach trip, we head to the beaches of Mississippi, Alabama or the Emeralds of Florida. The undesireables find out really quick that they are not welcomed there. They disappear almost as quickly as they appeared. We wouldn't even consider any beach in Texas. Too many of them and their filth.
