Great place if you want to overpay and have rude people helping you. Try Harris Pet Hospital 10 minutes north in Paddock Lake. Super nice and their prices are better than . I've been taking my lab there since she was born in 2000. The breeder recommended Harris as one of the doctors has a couple. Had cartilage (sp?) replacement surgery on her last fall and she it back to her running self all over again for a $1000 less than anyone else.

I take my dogs, my cat, and my rabbits to Antioch Animal Hospital. I can say that some of the front desk people may be a bit incompetent, and lacking in the area of knowledge and common sense causing them not to be on the same page as the actual vets, and it seems as though this is what happened. It is unfortunate and I am so sorry for your loss.

I would call and find out who you spoke with on the phone that told you to come in. That is the person that I would follow through with getting removed from their job. It's an obvious lack of responsibility on her part which caused your precious pet to die. No need for that. I certainly do not want that person working there with a potential of something like this happening again for any pet owner ... even myself.

I take my pets there as well, have for many years. I've never had a problem or been unhappy with their services, vets or front desk.

I am sorry for your loss, and I would definately call back today and ask for the manager - let them know who told you to come in and ask if that person alerted the vets to an emergency on the way.

My family has been taking our family pets to Antioch Animal Hospital for over 10 years. I have two very energetic dogs who love the staff there. We just had both dogs neutered for less than many other places, and they are doing great. We've never had a problem with Antioch Animal Hospital, and we've always been happy with their care.

My neighbor had his sick lab put to sleep there so when I had to put my sharpei to sleep I went there as well. Since that time I got a lab puppy and for the first few visits all was fine. She is a lab and full of energy and she likes to jump when someone comes around. Like I said she is a puppy and not fully trained. The last time she was in for a shot she jumped up and the veterinarian KICKED her in the chest. She went down as any puppy lab or otherwise would. Needless to say that was our last visit to that facility. I did voice my opinon and was told they would mark my file so that my dog would not be seen by that doctor. I respect her as a doctor but she was out of line to kick my puppy the way she did.

Our dog gets all her medical support there. What is the name of the vet? She will NEVER see our dog if we know who she is.

Are you sure she kicked your puppy? Or did the vet knee her? When a puppy or dog gets nuts around me and is jumping, I will bring my knee up. They run into the knee and it isn't a nice feeling for them. Sometimes it may look like a kick but it isn't. Did you say something to the vet when it happened? What was her reply? From what you wrote it sounded like you complained only to the receptionists.

I've been bringing my animals there for awhile. As for the front desk, yeah, some of them are incompetent and think they know more than they do but this is common for many animal hospitals. Some of the doctors are better than others, too. In general I feel it is a decent vet clnic. I know there are some bad reviews here but as with anything, bad news travels way more than good news.

I put down one dog and two rabbits at this facility. They are the nicest people. Got a new dog and she is well treated there. I will specificially not take any of my pets to any doctor who I feel is not compassionate toward my pets. There is one newer guy that doesn't get down to the dog's level to make my dog feel at ease, therefore, I will not go back to him. Not that he isn't competent, just doesn't have the dogside manner I prefer.

This person orignally asked about his bird and the person who answered his phone call said to bring the bird in but failed to keep a doctor there to see it. That is incompetence, irresponsibility and this employee should've spoken immediately to a vet to see if one would be available before having this poster come in.

I agree. We have been going to Harris Pet Hospital for about 12 years. Our boxer had cancer, & after 1000.00, all antioch wanted to do was clean his teeth. I think their fine for routine care, but nothing else. The Drs. at Harris are much more caring, & knowledgable, & also cheaper.

Don't be a *ucking jerk!!! Stay out of my business. You have no place commenting on this topic since you are an incompetent imbecile. Do NOT comment again. You have no respect for animals/pets, nor any understanding of ownership.
