Let it go, P.O.! Let it go, already! Maudlin. Pathetic. Luff's story does not convince that it's worth $45,000+ per year.

Why doesn't her community get on the stick and fix the problems? Oh I forgot it's beyond their power to be law abiding citizens or even attempt to be.

Truth be told...you could have this scenario anywhere in the US...kids in the surrounding areas, have the same issues..Look at Harrisburg, York, Lancaster and yes Chambersburg.

PO let it go on SSVC and concentrate your efforts on ALL CHILDREN!

One of the things that Scotland apparently failed to teach these two are that in life you play the hand you are dealt to the best of your ability. that's the way it is for everyone. Won't enlist in the Air Force unless she can be an officer? Can't be a lawyer unless she has a tutor?

Come on kids!! The fault lies not in our starts but in ourselves.

Attitude is everything.

Why don't you quit lying about an organization that has NEVER been charged with voter fraud and recognize that they strive to do exactly what you only b*tch about - help these communities help themselves.

But Noooooooooo. When a man gives up a high salaried law career to go into these communities to help them organize their own neighborhoods to form self help efforts that don't cost your stingy butt a single dime, you trash their efforts.

Leftis Liberal twit, can you fathom a guess about how many states have indicted and convicted ACORN types for voter fraud? Why, brilliant Democrat, has Congress cut off funds for ACORN? Your lies are so blatant. Why the typical Liberal name-calling?

Guys, this has nothing to do with ACORN...grow up.

This is about a kid who is having a hard time adjusting...James, it's a tough world. You'll either get tougher or break.

I would think it'd be better for you to learn the streets a bit before becoming a lawyer...that way, you understand how the world works instead of being naive.

Oh, it's "ACORN types" now. No actual voter fraud convictions for ACORN itself so now the wingers bash "ACORN types."

Exactly what "type" is that, Jack? Is it the type of organization that was founded by and staffed by low income folks who are trying to better their situation, just like the wingnuts demand that poor folks do - you know, pull yourself up by your bootstraps? Or is it any organization that the right chooses to demonize for no other reason than they support Democratic candidates?

N E V E R

The funds were cut off because of the videos of the couple posing as a prostitute & pump. It was all political posturing at its best.

what these kids are saying is ridiculous, trying to say they cant get into a good college unless they go to a private school. There are thousands of kids that work hard in inner city schools to do the right thing and secure a future for themselves, where they go to high school has little to no effect, if anything I would think that their preserverance of staying on the right track while surrounded by temptation at a inner city school would be an excellent testimony of their character to colleges.

Well, the kids are having trouble adjusting too bad. I say so long.
But if you really think about it, Chambersburg is going to be just like Philly in about 10 yrs if it takes that long. Just wait and see.

The whole story is sad, but true. The reality must be faced; SSVC is closed, and will remain closed. SSVC is not history. The buildings are closed, the faculty and staff have been "fired", and the students are gone! The reality must be sadly faced! And it's just unbelievable how one man, and one man only, could cause all of this.

welcome to the real world....I wish my son had the opportunities that you have been given, even if was only for one year..My son is in the army. He went to college and enlist so that the army would pay for his education...He has been in for 5 years now. He is in OCS so that he can better himself for his family... He didn't have the advantage of a one on one tutor or a private school because we didn't have the money... we were paying for YOUR $45,000.00 a year education. So again i say, "Welcome to the real world!!!"

All you sorry a----, I can.t believe so many people keep complaining about what was spent at SSVC. No one complains about how much money is spent on the welfare system to pay for people who always were too lazy to work. It is cheaper to let the state take care of them and just keep adding to the population. Very few have just one child, don't get enough help that way. Also goes to the immigrants legal & otherwise who don't have the ambition to learn to speak English. They don't have to, we must choose, when we make a phone call,-- English?
If you can't understand it, call back when you can!!! Now this really bothers me far more than schooling our veterans families. Veterans put their lives on the line, these dead beats don't!!!

I think you're forgetting that it was the verterans who paid for your freedom. Seems like a pretty fair exchange, doesn't it?

Nope, nothing racist here. To call it racist would be race baiting and that's wrong.

The problems in Philly do not have to be Chambersburg's problem.
Unless it has to do with the Governor.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Pisces

You're thinking along very inventive lines today, which is brilliant if you're trying to decide what you want to achieve in 2010. Get out a notebook or diary and start jotting down your ideas, so there's no danger of forgetting them. Discussing some of your plans with someone you respect could lead to even more brainwaves, and will assure you of their moral and emotional support.
