I heard about the "accident" from co-workers that know a friend and retiree in the area. Many of us were concerned. When I arrived home and watched the footage on channel 13 via the internet, it seemed that the station was more interested and focused on the visual sensationalism of fire and the loss of property than the loss of life. The commentary was pretty juvenile..........the live news reporter stated, "here's a car you wouldn't want to buy", refering to a burnt out vehicle. To make light of the situation is unforgivable and shameful. I have to wonder where and how the woman became so under the influence so as to do what she did. My prayers and heart go out to Mary Shannon, her family and friends of this couple. My heart goes out to those that lost their irreplaceable possessions and property. I pray that Tamara Lou Wilson, is given a sentence deserving of her actions and that she forever lives her life dwelling on the pain she has caused.
To CBS 13.........you have no shame what so ever.

It is so unfortunate that someone like her could cause so much pain to another family. I hope the laws change to provide harsher punishment for people like her. It makes me sick to read the paper and see dirtbags killing others then getting unmentionable sentencing that just is not enough punishment. I believe an eye for an eye. Accidents happen, but when you make a choice to drink/drive, you did not choose by accident. If you are guilty, why a trial, dont waste the money. This would save our country millions (not having to pay public defenders, court fee's, living expenses for prisoners, their cable TV bills, etc. This is an outrage. An eye for an eye.

http://www.placerville.info/tamara_wilson_who... "phantom man" huh? kidnapped, abducted, truck seized... yet she never called for help, didn't phone police/CHP/fire and hide from law enforcement.... LIAR, LIAR, pants (and county) on fire - you Tamara should hang your head in shame for your behavior then and now. Own up, fess up and give up... it's time to start making some good come out of this, stop perpetuating the lies. Put your trial costs (my taxpaying contribution) to better work than covering your sorry toosh lies, help rebuild, heal and heal yourself.

You know....you people really shouldn't comment on crap you know nothing about. Were you at the scene of the crime? I doubt it! That is MY mother you ignorant people are talking about and YOU should hang YOUR heads in shame! She has a family also but noooo....you don't seem to care about that now do you?! 3 kids and 4 grandkids one of which she never got the chance to meet. Everyone makes mistakes. Have you ever had a drink and then drove? I'm sure you have. Have you ever crossed a double line by accident? I'm willing to put money on it! What would YOU have done in her situation? You don't know what you would do. What if the tables were turned and this was your mother or sister or grandmother and all you read about is how she should be hung? You people make me sick! Yes she did screw up, but TWO families are involved not one. Also....Stitches from Rocklin...I pay my damn taxes too. Thanks. I also serve this country to protect your ass! Why don't you take your tax money and get yourself some help! Grow up!

ANYONE that drinks and drives SHOULD be hung. There is NO excuse for someone getting behind the wheel while being intoxicated. But that woman fled the scene, that makes it even WORSE!

Yep, you are right, a lot of people drink and drive. That doesnt make it right. The very least she should do is take responsibility for her actions and quit trying to lie her way out of it. Trying to lie about it is not better than a low life chicken hit and run driver. Wait a minute, she is a hit and run driver... It doesnt matter how safe a driver is these days, there is always someone irresponsible out there trying to kill you through ignorance and thoughtlessness.

I wasn't at the scene of the accident, which you correctly named as a scene of crime. I doubt you were. I recognize that two families are involved, however, there are more than two families. A fire was caused by the attempt to flee "crime scene" resulting in more grief to more families.

I appreciate that you pay taxes and protect the nation. May God bless you for that, but what does your status have to do with the injury to life and property suffered by the very people you protect?

To answer your question. I would support my mother or sister, after all, blood is thicker than water. However, I would acknowledged that what was down was wrong and pray for forgiveness, from those hurt or injured. Pray for the man's family.....and not be so defensive. After all, my mother or sister, would still have her life.

Understood?

In closing, "What would I have done her situation"? I would have stopped. Judging by your comment, I assume you would have done the same as she did. Tried to drive away to save your own hide, instead of phoning 911 to try and get help for the man you hit head on.

If you are indeed her daughter, I hope you don't have children. There is no need to perpetuate a lineage of irresponsible beings.

I agree, no one made her do what she did. Most likely, she wouldn't have done what she did had she not been inebriated.
A bad decision to drive in her condition, turned out to be a catastrophic decision. No one is banging on the daughter, family or friends. However, the response from her daughter is irresponsible at best. "What would you do in her situation?" Implying what?, it was OK to flee, keep driving and hit someone else head on?
"Eye for an eye"..........No, she wasn't in control of her full faculties. She was under the influence. She made a very, very poor decision that day. A sad situation for all parties involved.

I'm wrong. There are some vitriol posts regarding the family of the Suspect.

"YOU should hang your head in shame for having a mother like that".

Linda, explain how anyone should hang their head in shame for the acts of others.

Read the post by,"The daughter" IF that is truly that womans daughter, she is defending the actions of her mother. And yes, IF that is her daughter, she should hang her head in shame. If my mom had done something like that, I know I would. I would NOT be defending her like an idiot.

Linda--I don't know you but I know that you are totally clueless. I do not condone anything my mother has ever done! She has destroyed many lives, some of which you have no idea. You think it is not painful to have a mother that makes national news for being a complete idiot? Do you not think it is emabarrassing to walk into the grocery store or the hair salon and have everyone whispering "it was her mother"? Trust me, we are suffering, too. And for you to say that my sister should hang her head in shame for having a mother like that, you should be ashamed of yourself. WE DID NOT CHOOSE our parents and had absolutely no control over what she did. We are good people who are unfortunate enough to have had a mother make a really stupid decision. THAT IS NOT OUR FAULT!!!
To the "Sad Observer"
Furthermore, my sister is a wonderful mother. So your comment on hoping she has no children was completely unacceptable! The horrible tradgedy my mother caused is in no way a reflection on how our children will be raised. You know nothing about our family, nothing. So save your comments about the tradgedy and leave those of us who are INNOCENT out of your bashing!

My prayers are with those families who have suffered such loss due to the actions of my mother.

I think that the two daughters have made a good showing for themselves on here. They seem to aknowledge their mother's bone head mistakes so don't villify them.I personally never drink and drive but to say anyone that does needs to be put to death is rediculous and Linda from Placerville seems to be a brainless moron.Maybe she thinks that the famous drunk driver George W Bush should be hung for his drunk driving exploits. The fact is that once you start drinkig you no longer think clearly and then you make an idiot move like getting behind the wheel or leaving the scene of a crime. She will pay,her family will pay and all the nasty name calling by all you people on here won't make things any better.
