I was under the assumton that Benton County Officers were not aloud to drink and party in any bar in this county. Wonder why Brandon Smith was at the County Club doing just that last weekend? I highly doubt that he was working since he was consuming alcohol. He does not seem to have much respect for deptment policy or procedure. Seems Tony King lets him do whatever whenever he wants to....guess thats no surprise!

Please show the section in the department policy and procedure that states employees are not allowed at local bars. It would be a good suggestion to ask employees not to go to bars, but forcing them not to go....doubt it. Small town and nothing to do but try to run down a good deputy, and stir up sh*t. Mission accomplished.

I've known him before he was even a deputy and
he a good kid. Why are you running him down?
Gee he's not claiming to be a saint he's just
a County deputy and a human being.

Do you think that cops don't go into bars in the cities? They are entitled to have a social life just like everyone else! It actually is a good thing to have a cop which is off duty in a bar in case a fight happens. They definitely need some going to Boondocks but I doubt if they would lower theirselves to hanging out at that low life bar

There is no Rule or Regulation that says Cops can't go to any Bar in the same County or City where they work in LE.
Most of them don't, just to avoid such comments as these. They go to Clubs & Bars in other Counties, usually in adjoining Counties where they aren't as well known & some will only go to Private Clubs & Private Parties.
But, them need to unwind & have some fun, just like everybody else, maybe even more so, especially the Ones who aren't married. They need a Social Life, too, just like everybody else. So, I see nothing wrong with Brandon or any other Cop going to a Club or Bar & enjoying themselves, in the company of other People...in fact, it's probably good for them, in that it helps relieve the stress of their extremely stressful job.

Seriously Kountry Klubber? Deputies have the right to have a good time too. With all the idiots(kinda like yourself) that he has to deal with on a daily basis, he deserves to have a drink or two. Stop trying to stir sh*t, hes a damn good guy!

Since when is it anyone's business what Brandon does on his time off? All that people should be concerned with is that he does his job well when he is on duty.

Drink one for me Brandon and don't let your boss tell you what you do with your off time. Hang in there and don't run off like everyone else that's leaving.

There is something that a Member of LE should consider, the One that you partied with last night may be the same One you'll have to arrest, tonight. Should that happen, it makes for a "sticky" situation sometimes...especially in a small Town.

People, need to lay off of people personal lives.

On the other hand, the one that bought you a drink last night may be the one you show favoritism to when you meet them in a criminal situation tonight. May I buy you a drink officer?

Or be accused of showing favoritism, even if you don't. That's the reason that most of LE go somewhere out of Town or Private Parties & Clubs.

I have saw him on duty and off duty...neither was impressive! I have personally saw him act pretty unprofessional! Deb go hit that meth pipe you love so much and pray he dont come for you! Has he gave you a break in the past? Is that why you are so fond of him? Just asking!

It looks to me like the majority rules! Most people on here think that a LE officer deserves to get to out and drink one every now and again. So, what if Brandon wants to go out.... that is none of our business, unless he is breaking the law. Since when did going out to a bar become against the law.
Brandon is a very nice man. He has, so far, been professional on and off duty. Until, he breaks the law or harms someone with his action, it is not our business!
Sounds like Kountry Klubber and Me Myself and I may be jeolous of the young officer or maybe Me Myself and I is the meth head and Brandon dont like meth heads.
Yall are clueless idiots!

I don't think that he did anything wrong, at all, but just to avoid these kinds of negative comments that have been posted on here, maybe he should consider finding another place to go outside of this County. Unless, there is a particular reason that he likes the Country Club.
It's unfortunate that his being at the Country Club has caused these many negative comments, but still it's a fact of Life, in a small town & sometimes you just have to accept that & deal with it, in whatever way is best, just to avoid the hassle.
Such an uproar over nothing, just because he's a Cop. Unbelievable!

It is my understanding (from an extremely reliable source) that Benton county officers are not to go clubbing inside the county, but neighboring counties are fine...for exactly some of the reasons cited above. That same source said, currently the Benton county sheriff's department is about 4 officers short of a full staff, so this incident is probably moot.

I think the bigger question here should be, why are so many officers finding different employers? That is a little alarming.

Exasperated1: Ask your "reliable source" how a boss can keep them from going "clibbing" inside the county. That would be like saying that they can't grocery shop at Wal-Mart on Wednesdays. That is the reason we have a constitution and federal courts.

Thank you for saying that. I figured it was a lost cause trying to "argue" with these posters. I knew that was the case. Why are the officers leaving? That is a VERY good question! Could it be because of TK...most likely. IMO Do you know what officers are leaving or already left?
