Why? Money stupid. For every child that shows up on time for school, the school receives X amount of dollars. No kids not money.

no need for name calling! I was asking as a concerned person. I'm really hoping the school board will come to sense and put the kids 1st!

I hope you know that this Brain-dead Idiot that's too lazy to come up with their own User-name, and that is UNregistered, is NOT me! Or, are you playing that "Part", too and having a conversation with yourself throughout the whole thread???

No I am a real person who does not use this site very often so I see no need to register but I am my own real person, asking a real question. Hoping to get word out so maybe the school board will take a second look at the situation and put the health of the kids in front of their wallets. I know its a long shot but if enough parents complain to the school there is a chance they may do something about it.

Call the school board stupid. Ask a stupid question get a great answer from me. dork. Parents need to put there kids first not the school. They go to to learn academics, you need to teach them how to live in a world were there is disease. Do your job and get off the teachers. If your that concerned take them out of school.

The flu that is in Camden is mostly flu A.
People that have had their flu shots are getting the flu also.
Remember that flu shots are developed year to year on predictions of different strains.
They didn't predict very well this yr as people that have had their flu shots are getting the flu.
School definately needs to be closed.
It's a bad year for the flu, multiple cases of it.

Those sick need to stay home.
A flu shot is still your best bet for keeping the flu at bay. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends anyone over the age of 6 months to get immunized. This year`s flu shot is made from three flu viruses, one of which is new to this year`s vaccine. Remember: the flu shot cannot give you the flu, but some side effects are possible, including a runny nose, sore throat, muscle aches, and mild fever.
CDC says your wrong
The upcoming season's flu vaccine will protect against the three influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the season. This includes an influenza A (H1N1) virus, an influenza A (H3N2) virus, and an influenza B virus.

Where does this no school no money come from? I thought that the school only had to be open 185 days. Which means that they would just extend the school year to attend the needed days from the summer break. Boy wouldn't people bitch then!

TDH CLINICS OFFER FREE FLU VACCINE

NASHVILLE, Tenn.– Tennessee’s county health department clinics are now offering flu vaccine to people of all ages at no cost to patients until vaccine supplies are depleted. Seasonal influenza is now widespread in Tennessee. The Department of Health urges all Tennesseans who have not yet received a flu vaccine to get one now to help protect themselves and those around them from the flu virus.

“We have a supply of flu vaccine available and want to see as many Tennesseans vaccinated as possible to protect the health of those in our state,” said Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner, MD, MPH.“Getting vaccinated against the flu is the best way to protect your family, friends, coworkers and yourself from the illness.”

TDH and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend annual flu vaccination for everyone over the age of six months. CDC said this week that this year’s flu vaccine is a good match for the flu strains currently circulating in the U.S, and cautioned that the most common strain of influenza now circulating tends to cause more severe illness, particularly among the elderly. Seasonal flu activity is now highest in the southeastern and south central U.S., including Tennessee.

The flu vaccine is especially important for people at high risk for serious illness or death from influenza such as the elderly, pregnant women and young children, as well as healthcare workers and family and friends of anyone at high risk. Expectant mothers should be vaccinated during pregnancy to protect themselves and pass protection on to their unborn babies.

For more information on flu vaccine, including a tool to find vaccine providers in your area, visit the Department of Health website at http://health.state.tn.us/FluClinic/Default.a... .

I was NOT talking about "Owl"! I was talking about the one that I figure started this Thread.
And BTW, the Flu is really bad in Henry County too, so I'm told, and they haven't dismissed their schools, either. I don't know about any of the other surrounding Counties.
