The Walker v. Ward Lawsuit filed in December 2009 and being paid for by the Benton County Taxpayers was finally settled in an agreement costing the County. An article in the Camden Chronicle this week said it was finally over.

In addition to the County or Mark Ward ever having to admit guilt or wrongdoing in the wrongful arrest and jailing of Mr. Walker over alleged "voter fraud", the County had to pay out over $50,000 in legal fees to the Jackson Law Firm defending Mark Ward and the County. Thus about $75,000 will have been paid, not by Ward or Peach who arranged to have him appointed to head the County Election Commission office, a County Employee Position Paying Ward over $50,000 per year in Salary and Benefits.

The question for the five appointed members of the Benton County Election Commission is that now this is over, should they continue to allow Mark Ward to hold this position?

Most everyone is I believe familiar with all the facts and circumstances leading up to the filing of the lawsuit, so what do the taxpaying members of the community think??

watch what happens when DL gets back in there and causes the election office to get sued again. she ripped the tax payers off for $10,000.00 and hired her family and was a total incompetent and rigged elections.

Frivolous lawsuits like the ones filed by Walker and JD and Charles cost money, but worth every penny to defend.
I the Walker case it was just going to cost money to defend and win but the cost to defend it would have been much more. KUDOS to the county for settling it and SAVING the taxpayers a lot more in the long run.
If Walker thought he had a snow balls chance of winning he wouldn't have settled for just the legal fees, actually less, the Democratic party paid the balance on his behalf - Walker walked away with ZERO.

The question is should Mark Ward keep his County paid job, and as usual Joe wants to answer with something off subject. Don't think Walker's suit was frivolous he and 8 others were arrested, zero convictions and it was all done to try and create a "chill" so anyone who got one of those 2100 letters would not try and re-register.

That is the way an Assistant Attorney General in Nashville read it.

Yes, unless he will be replaced by a Democrat. There's no point in trying to train another monkey for the job. It would only lead to another lawsuit. Maybe he has enough on the job training to muddle through for 2 more years. Kinda like the sheriff.

Where does Joe come up with distraction, Sal is one of YOUR neighbors.....trying to change the subject....squirrel, squirrel, go look at the squirrel!!! Whatever he is saying or implying it has nothing to to do with Mark Ward, acting on the orders of James Peach in attempting to "chill" Democratic voter registrations having it backfire into a lawsuit that cost the County some $75,000 dollars in total before it was all done.

Joe had an involvement in Jan 2009 in getting Mark Ward into that position. Everyone in the County knows how Mark Ward got 'established' financially. Everyone knows what Peach did to establish himself financially after his support and education by a mentor, thus it is no surprise that Ward, Peach and Kyle all end up in collaboration.

Nashville says it is entirely up to the appointed Commissioners on the Election Commission. Guess they should be hearing from their neighbors and fellow voters as to what the PUBLIC wants.

Relax Joe, there is a complete investigation that will have it's own website, with documentation on this subject and the questions it raises.....coming soon but not tonight, so just relax Joe. Peach will find it an interesting read too....ties you into him but then again that is something that is a known fact in the local political circles and business community already so I am told.

Sorry Sal but it doesn't matter what the people want. Ward's position is not an elected one, it is appointed. Everybody is very pleased with the job he is doing. Why don't you just stay out of Benton County and leave the citizens alone?
