Sorry? I cannot appologize for caring about the SIX-THOUSAND other Gaston residence maam. The ones whom feel that "No one cares". By the grace of God, that will one day be OUR job and we intend take it seriously. We hear from them every day also. Our phones stay hot too.

Lets let go of whom has been here the longest and has the most friends and lets get someone in office who will do something for our Community!

Someone who does have the time, who does put their Community FIRST and who will make a difference. The difference that we have been looking for and requiring for years!

Since you weren't not aware or informed (which is understandable) of the situation, as town council, the mayor and a dozen or more of the citizens were aware, the website was ONLY taken off the internet. Nothing has been destroyed or deleted...just removed. The town hall has a full time employee now with the application knowledge to build and manage a website.

Web design is a tedious position. I know several technicans in this state who have worked on websites and it is costly in time and efforts. And they volunteered to make it? what about uploading new data? was that done for free? did not the town compensate anything? no compensation at all? no contract? sounds like that persona was taken advantage of. that was very smart to do. I would have done the same thing. are they going to sell the website?

are you nuts lead? what have you done for the town of Gaston to promote the kids? My family was introduced to the gic game day and arbor day. My family has to differ in your opinion. this group has been so encouraging and welcoming . we haven't seen this in here in a long time. they are always planning something.:) it is super that there is a group focusing on kids.

They are focusing on anything to promote themselves for the next election. Have you not been to the website? How do you think they will fund all of the promises they are making. Personally, I feel that our government is focused on what they should be-moving this town forward...or would you rather see Mayor and Council playing Chuttes and Latters every week? Kids are important but organizing gamenight does not qualify someone for town council as he is promoting himself for. Besides-how many parks and community centers does a town 3 miles big need. Sound like alot of empty promises. I think he views this town as a cash cow and that we do not need. If they were so concerned-how come they refer to their own personnal gain both in recognition and by applying for paid positions. yes they focus on children thats for sure. i wonder if that is for the good of the children or the good of themselves. kids are easily led astray. quite often people who focus a little too much on children recieve long prison sentences.

my opinion is that the focus on the kids is a start especially when the parents are getting involved, as myself, seeing a difference. My family hasn't witnessed a self-righteous behavior, we and my neighbors are well pleased.

Why would they give examples if they plan to run against them??? Think about it...If you want answers, ask those who can answer them. From what I see, this poor guy stepped in at a time of crisis and has pulled the town back up. Where was this group when that was going on. I don't no any of the council members personally, however, they should be commended for sticking in there and not bailing like the last administration.

They are the last administration. Same members different day. Read the news. Tired of the same-ole, same-ole. We are going to improve our Town and make it a wondeful place to call home whether you like or support it or not. Gaston is our home and we will see it prosper. Time for a change.

In response to the post by On the Outside. The past administration did not "bail" they were indicted, arrested and pled quilty to felonies. They made "bail" probably with money they stole from the town and now await trial. The truly concerned citizens of the Gaston area are being forced to wait for Justice to be served. The current mayor and 2 council members served under and with Larry Sharpe and the Pooles the whole time these crimes were being commited yet claim ignorance of the facts. I don't know about you but I was always taught that ignorance is no excuse!

Seems to me that there is way more progress than before and lots more information being provided.I stand corrected...they were arrested but do you not think that if all were involved they would not have been as well. You seem to forget-someone was the whistle blower(s). Why do you think Mayor Sharpe called for 2 of them to resign and left the one that just got booted alone??? Things that make you think.
