Do parents really know what's going on at the schools? And when did these teenagers become so inconsiderate and disrespectful? How as a community can we bring our village back to what it was? Suggestions- thoughts- we need to team up for our community as the reputation is only getting worse and gives the younger generations no chance no matter what stability and morals they may have! Let's redirect camden topics in a positive way and get to the bottom of it!

TO "Home School" afraid not...home schooling can never adequately prepare the youth of today for the technology of today and beyond. Yes, you can monitor what they read, learn, etc. However, I think you need to realize there's a big, wide world out there waiting for them to become a participant by improving life, safety, environment, etc.

Our biggest problem...it has been for years...is people becoming parents, abandoning, not providing for, and not caring about their children. It's always easy to blame the school; however, the parents need to "step up to the plate" and become active participants in the raising of the children they've chosen to bring into the world. It's easy to point the finger every where but at one's self...

"Home Schooling" does prepare the youth of today, what to expect in the future. Better than an any school ever could do. Yes, parents need to step up to the plate and take an active role in what is going on with our kids. In turn, do your research on how Homeschooled kids are smarter than any public school kid because they actually grasp material, in their time..not how long the state says they should learn it. So before you start making your so called assumptions on Homeschooled parents, maybe you should go back to some reading yourself and NOT judge others.

What about social development in home schooled children. Studies have shown that especially in rural areas like ours there is a serious lack of social preparedness once a home schooled child either graduates or begins public school at a later date.

right, I should have just said that whoever is home schooling their children are making them social idiots right? I was just trying to add a bit of non biased information to this conversations.
studies have also shown that people that respond to hard fact the you that you have, have a one if three chance of being a complete dick. is that better?

I'd like to comment on the home schooling issue. As far as the social aspect of it, you can teach children proper social behaviors. There have been many studies (real ones, not ones pulled out of my arse) done on children who were home schooled versus those educated at public schools. Children that were home schooled were interviewed 5 and 10 years later. It was found that the majority of them were much more successful in life based upon income, their social standing with their community, and overall happiness in life than their public school counterparts.

We have to be careful, "Homeschooling" in Camden is defined as Daddy teaching you the finer points of coitus.

Laws need to be changed to allow these brats to be properly disciplined... Sending them to time-out doesn't accomplish a thing. They need to fear their punishment.

Homeschool kids are more often than not socially retarded. When a 12 year old only hangs with his siblings and parents he doesn't know how to interact with kids his own age. Home schooling is clearly an issue that the parents have with society, not the child. The child is being instilled with the same perceptions as the parent. Perceptions that clearly have made the parent withdraw from society. Ignorance breeding ignorance. School is more than just reading, writing and arithmetic. It is how to interact in the world you live in.
