Deferred maintenance causes trains to stall on Benjamin Franklin Bridge. Philly.Com calls for investigation of uncompetent staff of Delaware River Port Authority including chairman and all political appointees.

The trains are being sent to a company to completely overhaul them from top to bottom, new electrical systems, interiors, and air lines will be installed on them. The vehicles were built in 1968 for some and 1981 for others, as such getting them refurbished is a top priority. The main reason why the matinence has been defered so long is due to that refurbishment program, they have enough spares right now to keep the system going by swapping out worn out trains for trains with less wear, without having to track down a problem as that train will be in the line to go and get refurbished. Look up "Patco train refurbishment" for more info.
