I lived for a time in "Charlevoix the Beautiful" (MI). There they plant petunias on the side of the road/Main Street all the way through town. And quite a number of years ago, the unused railway was converted to a great recreational trail the runs for several miles.

All the years I lived in Belfast I would say to my friends and family what wonderful ideas those were and wouldn't they work well in Belfast. I am pretty sure that no one who has come up with the beautification and revitalization of Belfast was listening to me when they came up with these two similar plans for the Broiler City. But I am glad someone, somewhere, saw the benefit of showcasing the beauty of this old town and the surrounding area. It has worked very well in Charlevoix and I am hoping that Belfast will see comparable benefits.
