I thought Castleberry's first name is Bobby and Elliott is Lawerence Elliott's last name. All which are good men of the Camden area. Also was not the land originally belonging to Mr. Kendall's wife and not Mr. Kendall? She is the one that got it all started. Stan Kendall is not driving a truck anymore. Some people need to get facts straight before posting. I find it hard to believe after reading in the Camden News that Davis said that the project would continue makes people think that he's still involved somehow. Makes no sense except from what was said to make a smoke screen to divert attention from others that have something hidden in their closets. Time will tell. I know that others are wanting something positive for the future of our area to happen.
his name is Randy Castleberry and the land belongs to Doc not Mrs. I guess trucks sizes can change and only time will tell these are all good people I just hate it for everyone involved.

They are good people and have been and have become pillars of the East Camden community. They believed in EC enough to put their money up to make it a place to be proud of. Lawrence elliot should have known when Jeff Davis was involved to run for the hills. How long did he let them stay in his building without getting a dime for rent. They had to have known the reputation Davis had of not paying his bills. It doesn't make sense for Davis to be talking to reporters at all at this point but to be claiming the project is still happening and act as if he is the chief on the project is crazy.

Well, according to the Camden News, they plainly name Jeff Davis as the manager. Maybe everybody who thinks they know what's going on, really has no clue. Maybe they're just assuming that what they hear is the truth.

For instance... We keep hearing about lawsuits but we never seem to hear about what happens afterwards. Who won the cases? Did they even go to court or were the cases dropped or dismissed? Any word on any judgments? Or do we just see reports in he Camden News of people filing suits and we just assume guilt?

Funny how some are automatically assumed guilty and some are automatically assumed innocent just based on a newspaper article that simply states a lawsuit has been filed, huh? Guess it just depends on who you are.

HGH if Davis did stay in his building without paying anything that's between him and davis not you and me.It's hard for me to stomach reading the "Claybaker News" so i don't put to much into what comes out of that. it's always funny when you hear someone talking that's not what i said why can't they get anything right in the Claybaker news.

Deakon what about all the lawsuits that are filed and gone to court and they never ever make it to the paper. It all goes back to the Claybaker News it's what effects him and his town and how he can get back at Davis for leaving him high and dry when he quit the city years ago and the All Mighty said I'll destoy you.

You're right it is Randy instead of Bobby. Bobby died a few years ago. Wasn't thinking. I was wondering the same thing about not hearing about these civil court cases and whether or not they have been to trial.

I guess the new question will be who do we want to run for County Judge since he is in jail and singing and I do mean singing. You know when you confess of one sin then you start to roll the sins out and that's why the judge has stayed in jail for his protection. hmmmmm something to think about.

I would hope that a new judge would be elected. Not so sure about the ones that we have that already serving.

If you have $1,000,000 you can buy the land and build what you want. You cannot just buy one or two acres.

The plans are to move forward but I would doubt that anything significant will happen this year. Some of the right people (developers) have apparently taken notice of this project and it's potential. The largest problem this project faces is lack of support from the community since a number of similar projects have failed in the past several decades. I guess they're gun-shy. The potential is there and that area has everything it needs to bust wide open but it's going to take a "we won't accept failure" attitude from the community. Question is, do they have what it takes to not only support, but demand, the success of the project?

I just don't get it. At all! I'm all for something busting loose around here. Anywhere. There's nothing in E Camdrn. Industry, some of that sketchy. E Camden is comparable to Fairview area etc I just don't see that being a potential for a booming area.

Let me ask you a simple question. How many dollars in salaries are there in the industrial park? I'll tell you, millions. Those people have to spend their money somewhere and they won't spend it in a place that provides no more than a small golf course, some convenient stores, and the new home center. With those three possibilities, the revenue potential is limited to say the least. What Kendall, Castleberry, and Elliott are trying to provide is a development that will, in all likelihood, increase the amount of workers from the industrial park and it's tenants that will be willing to live in or around E. Camden, and there will be those that will relocate. The area has everything it needs to provide the right conditions for a development to bust loose. A great school, a great college, proximity to work, a completely blank slate that can be customized to the wants of those who will live there, and enough land to expand to meet the growth needs in the future. The only thing it lacks is strong support from the community around it that will have to keep it afloat for 5-10 years until the workers begin moving in and that is enough to kill it. Make no mistake, Kendall, Castleberry, and Elliott have the money and willingness to take a chance on this development but it will be hard to get it off the ground without support.

I'm sure if it is built, then the people will support it. Just the ones that don't want this progress will not support it. If there is a nice movie theater built, then most around here will support it cause some of us are tired of having to drive to El Dorado when there is a movie worth paying money to see. We need more shopping options so some will not have to drive to Texarkana or Little Rock. Still only a few decent places to eat around Camden so variety would be nice.
