''''''''''PANTS ON FIRE''''''''''
One year after the stimulus, several independent macroeconomic firms, including Moody's and IHS Global Insight, estimated that the stimulus saved or created 1.6 to 1.8 million jobs and forecast a total impact of 2.5 million jobs saved by the time the stimulus is completed
But it’s just false to say that the stimulus created "no jobs" or "failed to save and create jobs" or "has done nothing to reduce unemployment" – or similar claims that the stimulus did not produce any jobs.
As we have written before, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released a report in August that said the stimulus bill has "[l]owered the unemployment rate by between 0.7 percentage points and 1.8 percentage points" and "[i]ncreased the number of people employed by between 1.4 million and 3.3 million."
Simply put, more people would be unemployed if not for the stimulus bill. The exact number of jobs created and saved is difficult to estimate, but nonpartisan economists say there’s no doubt that the number is positive.

If the stimulus performed as it was sold to the American people then unemployment would have gone down. This is what I was talking about when I said it would have put people back to work. To spin the numbers like you and many other liberals do is to just make uninformed people think that the stimulus did more than it did. The stimulus may have created jobs but how many jobs were created just until the stimulus for a given company ran out? You can speculate all day long about unemployment rates if we had not passed the stimulus but you don't have any idea if that is correct. All the companies that are sitting on piles of cash are asking for two things: 1) lower tax rates so they can hire more employees and 2)certainty in the markets so they know what they are up against. Give them that and the unemployment rate will quickly fall. The problem is we have an administration that won't do that because they have already framed the argument that wealthy business people are evil oppressors of the common employee. They are trying to tax their way out of the problem thus causing uncertainty in the markets which is exactly opposite of what they should do. So the companies sit and wait. Obama has already decided not to give in so he will ride that horse into the ground until he loses in November. The last words you will probably hear Obama say is "This is all Bush's fault".

I think your responses generally show that I don't have much to worry about. I sure wish that there had more like you when I was battling wits on an everyday basis, it sure would have my job easier. I know you could be a more worthy opponet if you woud just engage your brain occasionaly before you speak, but you are in such a hurry to be heard I doubt if that is going to happen. I notice that you have gotten back into correcting spelling and grammar when you have no ideas. Find my misspelled words.

You are right, I am wrong. It is gettinga little like when a 12 year old picks on a 7 year old, it can bw funny, but is really no point to it. I guess as long as most people realize what he is, there is no point in me pointing it out. Again sorry, he just makes it so easy.

It took 1 1/2 years to get health care reform passed. Just ask the Clintons how amazing it is that Obama got it done at all. It's a shame he had to spend that much time on it, but he fought hard. In the long run, it will save money. Any major change will cost more upon implementation before the savings start showing. So we needed to do it to avoid the massive costs later. It's like getting your oil changed to keep from replacing your engine in the future. You may not be able to afford it, but if you don't do it, the costs will be many times the cost of the initial oil change. Obama is very intelligent at being president. He just seems to be one of the few people with vision. By the way, vision is a major quality of a good leader. It's just a shame he's in the minority in DC. All of our politicians need to have vision, but it just doesn't happen that way. Maybe it's because the voters don't pay attention. I'm voting Obama. You can choose to stay mired in the past if you wish. America gives you that right. It's a changing world. I suggest you pay closer attention.
You have said that you are not a liberal yet you've supported Obamacare and feel that Obama's has been stopped from fully implementing his policies because Republicans have blocked him. I agree that you are not a liberal. You are a socialist.

That is a spelling error, not grammar and there is at least one more. These errors are done so that Barney will have purpose in life. Between the grammar check and spell check, it is awfully hard to give the boy much to keep him busy, so let us give him first chance to respond then point out my obvious errors. I know that you are trying to be helpful but finding errors is one of the high points in the boys life, in fact it would be appreciated if you would type messages rthat contain errors to give the little fellow something to do. Only put them in form of a dissenting point of view because he only brings them to our attention if he is losing an argument or has no idea what we are talking about (he seldom knows what he is talking about). Thank you for the correction but let us brighten the little guys life, make more missspellings (that's a gimmee).

You're devolving into a self-serving spell Nazi.

I liked you better when you had something more interesting and relevant to contribute.

When I was spreading wisdom, Barney was correcting my spelling, you are right though. It is hard to have a discussion with someone that refuses to discus.

She's an American, as are the rest of us on here.

Guest has a bit of confusion in that department...and has had for quite some time.

BTW, I neither like or dislike the people here..I don't even know any of you. Except Barney of course, he just keeps on keeping on.

This does pass the time at times.

Actuall hear me has some strong ideas, I just wonder why he feels Romney would be the damnation of the country. Heck, I backed Obama and see what happened, I can't be right all the time.

Bubba, I started to "judge" your post, but "nuts, clueless and funny" just can't do it justice.
