Fire destroys former Hotel Evergreen

The building that once housed the Hotel Evergreen was destroyed by fire overnight despite the efforts of 10 area fire departments.

Now there's a tragedy- that dump's been an eyesore for 20 years, good riddance.

I met my ex-wife there. I have always, since that time, resented the Evergreen Hotel is an irrational way.

this is terrible news. Now thousands of rats and roaches are going to have to find a new home. I believe a family of raccoons also lived in one of the back apartments.

I am nearly positive that the building was not insured because of its condition.

Used to be a fun place back in the day, good wing night specials.

You forget who owns it !!! I agree with feeling bad about the rats and roaches. Poor Worthington has to find a new home too

I'd have to say that you run that risk when you live in a building that is uninsureable and had been condemned in the past.

Arson, do you think? The building has been falling down for years. There have been past attempts to burn it down. Looks like someone finally succeeded. It's a shame someone couldn't restore it...it's a piece of Edinboro history gone forever.

I think it was a cool old building with lots of history, and I'm sorry to see it's been burned.
