Hello? I think this is a PSP call. And I don't recall seeing any parking meters in Cambridge Springs, dearie.

Agreed Bob. No need for them. Been saying it for years. Agreed Brenda, the real police handled this one, but CSPD.........what crimes do they solve that they have to get out of their car? Better yet, what crime is there? Here is the typical CSPD investigating a vandalism or any other non vehicle related crime:
"Anyone with any information please contact the CSPD at 398-****
Laughable. I did get a kick out of the incident at the prison a few months back. The PSP was handling the affair and the CSPD was stopping traffic 400 yards from the gate.

As I stated in another thread, fine detective work.
I don't know how it matters what I do. There is no jealousy towards them. I just pity the townfolk who get ticketed to death by guys wishing they could handle some real crime but in reality, would more than likely cower in fear of it.

If you were a smart prison guard you would know that PSP has to handle everything at the SCI because it is a STATE prison....Must have scored high on your civil service!

I am not a smart prison guard, but your one helluva detective. You need a reality show for your exploits. Hang on, I'll call Fox or FX.

Boom of steel.... you are so wrong in your facts. Why dont you ask to see the crimes that have been investigated by the CSPD. Just in the past 4 years i can name off at least 5 that made national news. Why are you a cop basher? Think about your job a a C.O. at SCI Cambridge. With out police you have no job. Bubba is right CSPD has jurisdiction by the prision for vehicle code violations because it is a boro street and also can enforce the crimes code there too but seeing it is a STATE corrections facility the State Police handle anything that has to do with the prison. Do you know who the state police call to assist them with almost everything they cover in the surrounding areas of Cambridge?.... CSPD, why? because they know that the officers from Cambridge know how to do their job and that they will always be there when called.

The cambridge police "cower in fear" as you stated BoomOfSteel. is that why you work in a prison where every one is in lock down all the time and has to wear fancy burgundy clothing and have already been taken off the streets and lost their freedom. Why dont you go take your act 120 and become a police officer in Pennsylvania? That is if your man enough to make it through the academy. Why dont you challange your "wonderful" knowledge of whats right and wrong conduct of an officer. Why dont you put your perfect phsycial fittness skills to the test against the officers in the Cambridge Springs Police Department? I know id bet an entire years sallary that you'd get your a** beat in a heart beat.

Have you ever gone to a Boro meeting to hear the police report every month? Im guessing "NO" cuz if you did you would know what crimes are solved and prevented and are currently being investigated. So why dont you go back to your wonderful life of babysitting "bad girls" and leave the "men" who keep your job for you alone.

Sounds like a Boro council member or a resident who is grateful for the protection provided by the CSPD. I would guess the Resident is not employed by criminal means, and that's good enough for me. Just because you've made it known what you do for a living doesn't mean we all need to give it up as well, Boom.
BTW, I'm grateful for those who work at the prison as well as for PSP, our Boro cops, Boro workers and CSVFD,(I hear those trucks rolling right now.)

Grateful right up until she/he rolls through a stop sign and gets pinched by some azz wipe with nothing better to do but watch stop signs all day. I hope she and you both get it. Then we will see what you have to say.

Boom, I'd still be grateful. I have to watch how I drive in town: I've had children dart in front of me, and pets as well. I've had teens pull out in front of me, and drunks and belligerent folks who think they own the road. And if I get caught someday because I was in a hurry and thought I should do a rolling stop, then GOOD! I wish more folks would get nailed for that too. We've become careless, sloppy and self-centered in our driving habits as well as out personal lives, and it's starting to become a serious if not dangerous problem... not only to ourselves -but to everyone whose path we cross.

Brenda1, does it bother you at all that if one of these cops seen another cop who was off duty "roll" through a stop sign he wouldn't ticket him?
It's called "A professional courtesy". Even cops from other towns get it. Does it bother you at all that the cop who would bust you for it does it with impunity? Is that right? Is it fair?
And that isn't my issue. My original issue was that we don't need cops in CS.
I have changed that opinion. With all the little thugs running around in town who's parents don't seem to care, the cops now serve a purpose.
If we could just drag them away from their speed and D.U.I. traps, things would be much better.

I get it, Boom, I see folks drive as if they're 'above the law' all the time -- gov't plates, PennDot, state employees, SCI guards... the list goes on.
In so far as the cops giving others a pass... I'm not so sure if that happens here all the time and by all our officers. I can tell you that it is a 'small world' however, and although our cops are actually a good bunch of guys, not all are...

There was one cop who used to work for CS when we first moved here, and he would creep me out when he would stop in where I worked. Last I knew he worked for the Erie Co. Sheriff. He was one I did NOT, and would not trust.
And yes indeed, someone needs to watch those thugs!(Someone was scoping out our garage while we were gone.)
Have a great week, Boom!

How long have you live in CS Brenda? I only lived there a few years. Is the cop you refer to have a nickname that coincides with an action movie series character?

Lived here since late 80s... the 'creepy' officer has been gone for quite awhile. I have no idea of nicknames for any of our cops.
I've seen 4 chiefs, all pretty nice guys; and with exception of the one cop, I really like all our cops-- a few are about the age of my kids. And as resident, I see a different side of the CSPD, I'm sure.
I do miss living in the country, but living in this small town has been better than I ever expected. It's not perfect, but it is good.

Yeah it must be Rambo then. Cs had another one recently who was let go for pizz poor police work. Never thought he was a bad guy, but he was. One of the new guys warns his friends where he is setting so they know to slow down so he doesn't have to bust them, so I am told from a reliable source who watches it out his window.
They are needed now, because of lousy parenting. They halt little drug traffic, it runs rampent there. They do shut down alot of bar business, I'll give them that. I won't go there anymore.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Cancer

You've had enough time to yourself lately. This is a day to focus on family, with all the good and bad that that brings. Crabs would much rather be at the top of the tree than down near the roots, but that's life. You might be smart when it comes to matters of the heart, but you don't know it all quite yet.
