Hmmm. Just 5 years for murder. Sounds like somebody got off easy. Maybe they will give him 6 days for the next murder. And shunning by the elders. Maybe they could think of something less childish.

Let the common man murder someone. They will be put up for life. Put him in a pan and fry him up.

We now have a new word added to the language.
Slice a wife.
Get custody of the kids after.
Get out of jail free.
Juiced?
No.... gingeriched.

As in, Our society has been gingeriched once again.

There is a book about this case. He didn't just kill his wife, he gutted her like a deer. He has a long history of mental health issues that were treated on and off, something to do with "English" medicine and the Amish not believing in it. He is a diagnosed schizo. I believe if I can remember correctly, that's what got him off. He was in an untreated phase.

I just read a book about Edward Gingerich and how he murdered his wife. I do not beleive he should have ever been set free. He murdered her like she was some kind of animal. I can't beleive that he only served a minimal sentence after what he had done to her and in front of his children. I think he should have received the death sentence for his actions. He may be crazy but who is to say that he will not stop taking his medication and murder again I do not beleive after what he has done that he is better. I don't beleive he ever will be.

The Amish believe in modern medicine, and they pay cash for the doctor's office visit.
This man had the medicine to take, but like some mentally ill patients, he stopped taking the medicine.
I think Bill Clinton stopped taking his medicine.
(sorry-couldn't resist)

He killed her and field dressed her in front of his children and then walked down their long driveway holding one child and holding the hand of another
