Dr. Pogue's 'interest' is in helping out a school that carries Ben Wiley's name...who was an old friend. Right.
Not to be too cynical, methinks it has a little more to do with the $20,000 in taxpayer cash that he's being paid for 6-7 weeks' work...$3000 per week. And he doesn't have to write any report to anyone on what he finds either. Nice work if you can get it.

Sounds like you two are bitter about something. It boggles my mind that they hired a guy with degrees in sociology to audit a school that teaches k-6, but you have to attack the character of Dr. Pogue and the quality of Edinboro. Interesting.

Ralph, my only observation was that I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be doing that job if he wasn't being paid, and paid well. His story line of 'doing it for Ben' was questioned...not his character.

Ralph, it boggles my mind too. That's why I agree with TomT. If he has such great interest in the well being of the school, why not volunteer his time and donate the $20K to buy the children books or other classroom needs.

With the money he can charter a plane to fly back and forth to Chicago. Pogue was hired May 7 as Interim President at Chicago State University.

CSU is paying him $250,000 a year plus a free stay at in a university owned house.

Steve, that is par for the course for a university president. Just about every college or university puts their president up in a university owned house plus a university leased car.$250k isn't bad for Chicago - remember that too. Pogue's successor at Edinboro got $190k.

Penn State's president gets $550k/year plus all the perks plus bonuses. Pitt's Chancellor Mark Nordenberg gets $500k/year plus $75k/year cash each year he stays.

ralph, remember that university presidents also serve as paid members of various business boards of directors. They do OK for themselves.

Chancellor (president) of Syracuse University, the wretched little troll, nancy cantor, has her husband on the payroll.
