Continued prayers for ALL families involved. This is going to be a very tense and trying time for all of you. Nothing can bring baby Kierstan back, but perhaps she will receive the justice she so much deserves.

"Tripped over a cord and hit her head on a car seat"! Your brain doesn't swell the size of a football and your retina's don't detach, from bumping your head on a cushioned plastic car seat! How sad that Kierstan's own Father didn't protect her from that physco. And rather than call 911 immediately, she calls her Mother, waits for her to arrive, while the baby is dying on the floor?! I guess she needed the extra time to conjure up the lame story....

Thanks for the balanced comment, SSBS. Kierstan knows Jesus is her justice. And He has never let anyone down. God bless everyone affected here, I won't quit praying about this until its done. May God be glorified in the full truth, and may all parties "tell the whole truth, so help me, God."

I am very glad to hear that Ms. French is going to stand trial. I just hope that the truth comes out, and soon. At least, for Kierstan's sake.

Tiera, please refrain from such harsh statements... God knows the truth in your life and mine, too. And aren't you banned from Crawford Co.? MJB is exaggerating as well. God bless you all. The Lord knows she needs to go through the trial, otherwise no one will believe the truth. God bless you. Let the COURT do what is right.

How do you figure that I'm exaggerating? What I stated is what's in the police report as well as the newspaper's. Are they lying? The case was thouroughly investigated prior to her arrest. They don't charge a person with homicide if there's not substantial evidence. You're obviously a friend of hers and don't want to believe she was capable of such a crime, but the fact remains, Kierstan's death wasn't an "accident".

The size of a football... did you go to the funeral home? Kierstan had a large head, I was shocked when I first met her. It concerned me, but I figured it may have been something else since she 'seemed' a normal little girl despite the size of her head as I got to know her. Yes it looked larger at the funeral home, but a football? I think not.
Could Kierstan's head size been due to an unhealthy pregnancy, ie: drinking, drugs, poor diet, congenital defects? I can say this because I've been there in my own life.
Yes, Melynda is my friend... but I want Justice and Truth GOD'S way, not the 'blog' way... people are not interested in the whole truth here, just their opinions and revenge. The hateful and ignorant comments only make you look bad, whether done in the court room or the blogs.
She needs her day in court, so there will be no doubts as to what truly happened - before, during and after - that fateful moment. She will remain my friend, no matter what, I'll not be a 'fair-weather' friend.
God bless you, folks, I KNOW your hearts hurt in all this. I pray God helps you and all of us through this.

An unhealthy pregnancy does not cause detached retinas two years after the baby is born. Secondly, if there was a poor diet, than it had to be due to the food that Shane and Melynda fed her since they had her for the last six months of her life.
On a different note, why must you always blame everything on genetics? do you have proof? The last time I heard, she was very healthy. Thus, to indicate otherwise seems idiotic.

I hope this truth has nothing to do with the defense's insinuation that Kierstan feel at my sister's home, because that is not the truth. If that were, why didn't she call 911 as the DA redirected? That seems fishy to me.

sounds plausible Brenda, she fell and the inside of her skull blew up, get real. Your first few posts made me think that "hey, she makes a bit of sense, let this play out in court" but your continued efforts to suggest that anything but your pal caused these injuries has completely destroyed any credibility that you may have had.
Her grandfather had a brain tumor...that must have caused the lacerations on her her and her detached retinas.

You saw her after the mortician prepared her body for burial (fluid's drained etc.) So you wouldn't know how bad the swelling had been. Do you have children Brenda? The reason I ask is because you haven't said anything compassionate about Kierstan, it's just all about "poor Melynda". I can't even imagine the terror that baby felt when it all happened. I mean really. Just put yourself in Kierstan's shoes for one minute...it's heart breaking. And how do you explain away, the time lapse from the time she fell unconcious until 911 was called? Yes, I'm sure Melynda was scared but not immediately trying to get an ambulance there, was so selfish. She knew she had to come up with an "accident" story, and just let Kierstand lay there. I blame Shane for this as well. He couldn't take care of the 4 children he has in Texas, then came to Meadville and had 3 more that he couldn't take care of. I realize he's not the sharpest tack in the box but, you'd have to be totally dense not to realize your child was suffering from abuse. Let's all remember children are totally dependent on their parent's to keep them out of harm's way.....especially when it can be prevented.

Believe me, those kids were well cared for... Shane and Melynda, as well as her family took wonderful care of them.
The reference was to Kierstan's head size. All I can say is -- wait for it all to come out.
Genetics was not the only thing I mentioned -- drugs and drinking during a pregnancy. I also mentioned I had been there in my own life.
Let the courts deal with this - Where and if she fell is no reflection on Patty or her family unless she chooses to deny something happened -whether a fall or push or whatever. Total honesty is necessary from all parties. It will be done.

I have stated in previous threads/posts my affection for the children ... I really don't have to defend my position to you.
Yes, I have children, a grandchild, and I protect children - my job. I know how to spot abuse - familiar territory. I could tell you if a child has had her heart broke, or the last thing they heard was a curse.
And I haven't said "poor Melynda" -- I have said let her have a fair trial. Do be fair.

Jesus H. Christ Brenda, kids who are well cared for don't die at the hand of their caregivers. Kids who are being taken care of wonderfully are passed from family to family. What planet are you from?
Sounds as if Melynda's is starting a laundry list of possible excuses, what will they do in the courtroom, put them all on a dartboard and start firing to see which one sticks?
Your friend did a VERY BAD THING, you better be ready to deal with it.
