It was a pleasure to see my grandfather's name (Herbert A. McMahon) mentioned in this article acknowledging his efforts with Mr. Coffman so many years ago. I recall fondly as a boy going hiking and camping with him and his pride at being a part of Scouting in Pennsylvania. I am proud to know he was also acknowledged with the Silver Beaver Award for his comitment to Scouting. Although he has passed on, what he ensured to his sons and daughters and his many grandchildren and great granchildren is a love of nature and its preservation for future generations. Many of our family have earned the Eagle Scout Award and many more remained involved in scouting for life. Truly one man can make a diference. Last month I sat on an Eagle Review Board and wondered what he would say about the face of scouting today. I am sure he would be pleased.

AMAZING !! I was browsing this web site and came across your entry. You are one of my many cousins that I have never met !! Your grandfather was my mother's brother. She was Ruth Jane McMahon Lange from Oil City, born there in 1903. I am living in Austin, Tx., and have been in contact awhile back with Paul Nelson, another cousin. Sound familiar? I had also read the article about Uncle Herb and am still being amazed at age 68 of this family of ours. We are far flung as you can see. Beth Lange Mosley, Austin, Tx.
